I have enough trouble pulling girls let alone walking round with a shirt branding me a virgin. It'll be like something out of Kevin and Perry. Great news though!
Well Matty needs a song and it somehow seems appropriate he gets this tune.... needs some work. "Like a Virgin, He's gonna score for the very first time Matty Taaaarrrrrget He's our left back, Next in Line" .
We have another thread discussing avatars and I cannot stop myself pointing out that your avatar is inaccurate. On the shield of Southampton the red background is on the bottom so that it looks like a half full glass of wine. This one is correct. It is a common mistake often made by people who should know better.
I've read 8 million a year (albeit on Facebooks). Anyone know if th Why oh why is this not the Saints badge? Why do we have that embarrassing schoolkid's design? So annoying.
Fair enough. I was being a bit harsh. Some of the symbols are fine; river, tree, rose etc. But the halo, football, scarf thing is a bit naff. Godders' lions on warships design though is epic.
Looks nice... Regarding possibly actually being the real thing, or not. The Under Armor logo looks very small compared to how it features on other team's kits, and our badge sitting against the stripe looks unusual design wise. The box is almost unavoidable with stripes and this logo. The Virgin logo is pretty puny and delicate, so needs to have it own space. Any outline/curved space around it would be stronger than the actual lines of the logo. Many brands will specify that their logo should sit an exact space ratio, so it's not interfered by other design elements which could effect recognition and the logo appears consistent across all media.
I wouldn't worry about the size of the logo. Yesterday taking my sons to school a load of the kids were pointing and laughing. When the school bell went I called my Sons over and asked them "what are they laughing at." My eldest replied "They are making fun of your trainers. Your Dad's got Lidl trainers on, ha ha. Under Armour aren't very recognised here yet. Bloody comfy trainers though. #notinfluencedbysaintsoradvertisingatall
I've seen a few reports that say that the VM deal with us is worth almost £10 million a year. Anybody know anything about it?
I read this as Saints Announce Virgin Mary as New Sponsor. We could do with a few miracles. And we did once have her first born as a right back.
I know that it's basically good news but it says much about the game today that we are excited about our sponsor. Essentially, they are just another over-valued company, selling us stuff that we don't need at prices many can't afford. Still, and totally hypocritically, if someone's going to have them I'm glad it's us!
It all feels a bit "rushed" to me. Bit of a low key statement from Saints with just a logo on the pitch. Virgin Media aren't exactly splashing the news all over their website etc. Wonder if it was brought forward to have some positive news to counterbalance the Ron debacle?
