I played a famous sleuth on TV for five years, and won a BAFTA for my performance in a TV serial from the early 90s

An only child, I was born in the north of England during the later part of the 19th century
After leaving school I worked as rent collector, but in the evenings I took art lessons, particularly freehand drawing
My paintings sell for millions, and a gallery was opened in my honour at a cost of over £100 million
A mostly solitary person, I did enjoy attending football matches and my local pub, where a statue of me now stands

I'm actually welling up here with the chart of charts, it is like saying I'm the god of gods. I may change my name to Zeus, even though he wasn't technically god of gods
