I kinda like Sissoko but we really don't need him.

I see Lineker has got involved in the Vardy transfer by urging him to stay at Leicester and not move to the perennial also-rans, meaning of course Arsenal.

Take him. Please. I'll drive the twat down myself. He has a heart the size of a pea.

£50m and you can have Sissoko AND Coloccini. Can't say fairer than that.

Sissoko have all the makings of a fantastic player but really, really cannot be arsed. He is much better in the big games so perhaps would thrive at a club where he gets more big games but you win the title by winning 1-0 away to teams you are expected to beat on days you are off-key. He is absolutely useless in those games.

Coloccini you can keep. We'll give you £15.99 and a year's supply of cheesy wotsits for sissoko <ok>

I'll accept that though Colo could be melted down and made into a fireguard.

The curious case of Benteke. Seems to have the attributes to do well yet flopped for Liverpool. Sometimes a player doesn't suit a system and can flourish elsewhere.

He should come at a cut price after his underwhelming seasons for Liverpool and or if we can do some sort of part exchange with Walcott then I'd go for it.

Would take him over Giroud for sure. He's a big athletic battering ram - could be a very effective forward with the right coaching.

No way!!! Wouldn't add anything to our team, as is a big step down from Vardy let alone some of the other strikers we've been linked to - Benzema, Ibra, Aubyameng (sp?), Higuain ect.

It always seems that Liverpool sign a big transfer, physical striker just before changing managers and then the new manager doesn't want anything to do with that striker as they don't fit in his plans. Look at both Carroll and Benteke, both have struggled and were left to rot on the bench for the most part (when Carroll wasn't injured).

Hard luck on the players but he still has the quality to do well for us.

So you think Benteke is a big come down from Vardy? I'm starting to think that people are rating this guy too highly after one season. Also remember that he is 29 and Benteke is 25.

I would take Benteke over Vardy.

So would I. Not because I think he sounds exotic, but he has a good skillset backed up by raw power. I'm sure the right manager could get the best out of him.

Also, not that I'm rubbishing Vardy as he is a good player, but people are getting way too excited after one season.

I do yes, Benteke was quite average for Villa just before he left and has been average again since he's been at Liverpool. When on form he can be very good, but he hasn't been on form for 2 seasons. As well as this IMO he doesn't have the right skillset for our style of play, he's not great with the ball at his feet, or playing in other players, and instead thrives on balls in the box or balls over the top. As I don't think he's as good a finisher as Vardy I think Vardy, being on form (much better form than Benteke has ever hit) is the better option as Ozil. Sanchez, Santi and Xhaka will be able to exploit his pace much more effecively while his better finishing should (hopefully) convert a higher percentage of the chances Ozil (and others) creates.

I'm not saying Vardy is this amazing striker, I'm just comparing him to Benteke. I also think that Vardy is better than Walcott as well for the reasons above.

Not convinced about Benteke. He's a bit of a lump, but not much else going on to be honest. If he moves I think it should be to somebody like Watford if they lose Deeney to Leicester.

I personally like my ST pacy and skillful. I prefer Giroud because he link up play to top quality. Benteke is the typical British (yeah I know he's not British, smart ass! But you know what I mean) type CF. Big target man to lump it up to. I prefer ball playing ST like Henry, RVP, Kane, but they are rare.

Think Benteke has the potential to be excellent but appears to go missing when pressure is on. Have enough of those kind of players thank you, which is one of the only reasons I'd not mind Vardy as at least he tries.

Anyone remember when we were nervous about playing against Benteke in the FA Cup final?! <laugh>

To be fair Benteke has only really looked poor at Liverpool where he was in and out of the side.

At Villa he scored 49 in 101 Premierleague games. (Age 21-23) Which is a better record than Giroud has with a much better midfield behind him.

At 25 the guy can still improve a lot. He obviously wouldn't be my first choice but I think he could be a decent signing.

That's quite telling that he has a better record, than Giroud with an inferior midfield. I think there is still a lot to come from Benteke but everyone seems to be dismissing him because he's had a rough time at Liverpool. He's still 25 and can improve.
