    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Hilarious!

I like the Walking Dead, zombies have always done it for me, Dawn of the Dead is one of my favourite films.
But Game of Thrones is unparalleled in terms of its writing, and definitely acting, by anything else on TV. Thats not even subjective, its a fact. The Walking Dead is a network TV show, and is controlled by AMC, who tell the writers "Theres an ad break here, so there must be a scene with a cliff hanger here, and a scene with tension here".
GoT is on HBO, which is subscription based, so they dont give two ****s about ratings and ad revenue, so they let the writers and show runners do whatever the hell they want and give them full artistic license. Which is why HBO and Showtime put out the best TV in the modern era.
Anything else on a cable network, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, The Flash, 24, Lost, all that ****, will always be second tier.

    I love HBO. :)

The Sopranos, The Wire, Oz, Game of Thrones, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, The Ricky Gervais Show, it's all epic TV.
HBO have been the bastion of TV excellence since the turn of the century, they changed the playing field and we owe them a lot.

Imo TWD and GoT are about equal in terms of storytelling, lots of stalling and treading water in both, too much in fact, both could be over and done with by now or closer to that than they are with better storytelling

That doesn't mean I'm saying the writing and scripts are bad, they're not, often they're very good and in television terms some of the best out there, just that storytelling and structuring is different to writing

Production values on both are really good. GoT is far superior though, the locations are beautiful and the sets and costumes convincing even if the CGI can be quite ropey (it can also be really good though but is variable). TWD does well with limited scope though in terms of locations and sets, and obviously the make-up and gore/zombie effects are second to none

Acting in both is mostly very good as well

Is true, the channel by commissioning shows like those and taking risks was responsible for some of the biggest shifts in the medium ever and pretty much changed the face of television

Serious response now. GOT I like but I don't really think that the story is that interesting, it's a jumble of stories that have one basic link, that being the white walkers and the oncoming war with them, the rest of it is simply a complicated way of how we get to that point. It's had moments of brilliance at times but has also got bogged down in the books content and the fact that it's incomplete.

The Walking Dead place the viewer into a world full of peril but the main driver is the human condition and how we survive and adapt, it's built an interesting cast and with Andrew Lincoln at the head of that cast it makes the whole story more interesting as he is a very good actor. The show suffers from repetion at times and like GOT the lack of a clear ending.

I was poking to get a reaction but in all honesty I don't think GOT is anything special in terms of writing or acting, the only truly good actor in the main cast is the dwarf. I don't think there's much between the two shows at all.

This is something that annoyed me a bit, go back to Season 1 and some of the city scapes are brilliant and the atmosphere created with the empty streets and the fact that around any corner is carnage was superb.

Yep, it's definitely boxed itself into a corner by going down the narrative path it has, would have loved it if there was a focus on a group of survivors in the city somewhere

Escaping to the country was inevitable but they should have done more in the city, it was creepy as hell.

Its unparalleled by anything thats ever been on TV.
The amount of characters and storylines contained in the show, and its lore and history, is amazing.
The budget is astronomical, every episode feels like a movie.
It has its bad points, Season 5 dipped in quality imo.
Its not even comparable to the Walking Dead, in which the writing is second rate. The acting is adequate, Lincoln is very good but everyone else in "meh".

GoT's acting phenomenal. How you you can say its not special is baffling. Peter Dinklage is far from the best actor in the show. Charles Dance wins that award for me.
But also Sean Bean was great, Mark Addy, Jack Gleason as Joffrey, Natalie Dormer as Margaery, Maisie Williams as Arya, and not to mention Michelle Fairley as Catelyn Stark, who was amazing, especially in season 3.
Rory McCann as the Hound......so many stand out performances for me.
People rave about Dinklage, and he is good, but not even in the top 10 for me.
Jack Gleason is such a nice guy in real life, but his performance as Joffrey, the most hated character in television history, was breathtaking.

Walking Dead could have been so much better.
I still maintain the best episode of the Walking Dead is the pilot.
I still like it, and watch it religiously, but the last season was a bit disappointing if I am honest.

Game of thorne has something for everyone.

Yes dance was good.. he has a great villian to play though... that helps.

in the mian the very best acting in GoT has been done round the edges.

Bean isn't great, never has been (pun not intended) he's been stuck in a i'm working class pretending thing ever since goldeneye...
Joffrey was an easy role, i don't think it was particularly well acted really. I think ramsey has been superbly acted but again its a villan and you can play to it.

The hound is similar, its a caricature. you can have fun with it. For me the weakest in GoT has been robb and jon. they have been closely followed by blondie who asdie for a RIDICULOUS black eyebrow issue has been saved only by willingness for tits out.

Dinklage has probably been the best actor in it, he's character has had many stories consistently through the show and he's delivered the lines every time.

Everyone loves a villain and GoT is lashed full of them. walking dead only has this CGI dread as the villain. the villians make GoT.
