... Vardy is not a clapped out pick-up truck like Rooney ... he's a souped up subaru with relatively few miles on the body clock ... <laugh>

As I said above ... he'll be at the top of his game for the next couple of years ...

Linford Christie was doped up to the eyeballs. Allegedly.

<laugh> ... so Vardy is going to lose his pace over the close season?

... sorry lads won't happen ... I'd love him to stay with us .. but if he is at Arsenal for the enxt few years he will still score plenty ... even if he loses some of the raw pace (and personally I don't see that for a few years) his speed of reaction would still see him first to any scraps in and around the box ...

I disagree, I noticed him the season before and thought he looked a dangerous striker (I didn't realise how dangerous though). Put him in my fantasy team from the start. Age is a factor but I see him getting 20 goals again if he stays at Leicester. He's worked hard at his game to get to this point and he'll continue to be a top striker for a season or 2 yet.

    Back to the point...

Once players pass 30 they invariably lose some of their pace, it's just natural ageing.

Some come down the slope quicker than others in that regard e.g. Rooney, but it happens across the spectrum.

Handing out a huge 4 year deal to a player who's 30 next season and who's game is based on pace is a big gamble imo.

I still think he'll stay at Leicester btw.

... had him and Mahrez in mine from the outset (and bloody Harry Kane - who I dropped just before he started to score) ... admittedly in Vardy's case out of club loyalty rather than expectation ... worked out very well ...<laugh>

I dont know the different types of games Vardy can play. However him and Kane look good for England.

Could he play in a 3 behind the striker? If so I'd have him at Spurs coming in off the right. Think he would have a stormer for us.

I'm not thinking about the collateral damage this may cause. Such as Lamela's progress being stunted. I think our starting 11 would be better with Vardy in it, even if it is for the short term.

Vardy won't have issues with pace until he hits 31, 32ish. Happens to all of us, even Thierry Henry had a dramatic dip in his effectiveness from one season to the next when he hit around 32.

I agree, next season he'll be fine beyond that I have my doubts Arsenal are mugs trying to get him.

I recall you didn't want Vardy in the team at the start of the season.

Vardy's eagerness ,anticipation and intelligence to read the pitch puts him in a class of his own .
He is the " Perfect " counter attacker IMO.

You recall correctly ... I thought we would start with Kramaric and Ulloa in the middle .. we started with Vardy and Okazaki ... I wanted to include Leicester players in my FF team and started with Mahrez Vardy and Schlupp ... Schlupp because he counted as a defender when really a wing-back midfield player - Mahrez just because he is Mahrez and I thought he would get loads of assists and Vardy partly due to budgetary constraints ... but he notched two in the first game and from that point on was phenomenal ...
