I think they'll be hoping that it won't end up that far down, the cheaper zones will probably sell to people who haven't had a pass before and thinks it's cheap enough to just trot along to the games they fancy. It was always a concern that promotion could disguise how bad the drop actually was.
Because you're saying the only way to oppose it is a boycott. I'm a member of the HCST who are opposing it, i've taken part it in all the protests arranged so far, and I've written to my MP, the local rag and the FSF voicing my opposition. I think a boycott is harmful to my club.
yes im sure that the final figure wont look that bad once the th pl bandwagoners are on board, id still like to know what they think about been 2500 sales down on what should have been guaranteed sales.
All about opinions innit? We clearly differ here but I just dont think the owners give two ****s about any of them things you say you've done. If 20k people sign up but still complain, then will it be here next season? I guess time will tell.
It's only just come about and everyone has a limit or a line. If a season or two went by I assume many others would stop going as it would have shown the other means haven't worked.
Surely the better comparison for sales would be our last promotion campaign & not last season. The link you posted earlier had us down for 14500 season tickets before promotion had been confirmed & almost 19000 by 22nd June. If we've sold less than 10,000 Memberships to date then they have a long way to go to even come close to matching 2013's numbers. At the minute they need to find close to 10,000 new Members in a fortnight just to match comparable 2013 Season Ticket sales by the 22nd June. They're going to be thousands short.
It's really not hard . . . http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20160607/family-area-sold-out_2281670_5630045 Season tickets in the 8,200-capacity Family Area at St. James' Park have now sold out after a busy day of sales in the Newcastle United box office. With seats used by season ticket holders last season currently reserved for renewal until 30th June, new season ticket holders have snapped up remaining spares. Should any of last season's season ticket holders in the Family Area choose not to renew by the end of the month, those seats will become available on general sale from 1st July. The Club is encouraging supporters to complete their applications for the Family Area as normal in the meantime. While the South East corner and Gallowgate have also seen strong sales, availability remains in most areas of the stadium. Despite relegation to the Championship, sales for the 2016/17 season have spiked following news that Rafa Benítez will remain as manager of the Magpies, as well as the Club lowering all season ticket prices by ten per cent. Supporters have been able to secure a season ticket at St. James' Park from as little as £329 (just over £14 per game) or only £68 for juniors - around £3 per match. Current season ticket holders on long-term price deals will be paying even less and the Club will be confirming new prices and refund information in writing from around 15th June. Stephen Tickle, box office manager at Newcastle United, said: "It's been several years since we've seen sales at the high level we had yesterday. Our phone lines and website are running at capacity and the box office has been working overtime to service demand. "On behalf of our box office team, I'd like to thank supporters for their patience. We'll continue to work hard as hard as we can to make the process as quick and convenient as possible." Supporters wishing to renew season tickets can do so by clicking here, by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls cost 7p per minute plus network access charge), or in person at the St. James' Park box office.
It seems to me that Ehaw has again achieved another of his ambitions, to piss off even more fans. His old man must be extremely proud of him. I dare say he will give him a huge bonus, so that he can swan around telling anybody who will listen, which I suspect won' be many, that he owns a premier league football club. How ****ing wonderful for him.
It's not like they're taking the piss, they are - first of all they said we could die, then he said we were irrelevant and now half the fans have ****ed off he say thank you - presumably it will be an even bigger thank you when the other half leave as well
Hi All I haven't posted for a while but i have some points and some questions on all that is happening to HULL CITY AFC , the Tigers First of all that is all they will ever be to me no matter what an owner calls them I think the owners started off ok then made some grave mistakes , which is not comprehending the mind of a football fan , like people who support two teams ! no you can't ! The vitriol from many forum members matches the attitude of the owners and to be honest even after 55 years of watching city is beginning to wear, but then again the changes and the money and the dishonesty of it all is also taking its toll maybe i am tired of it all - but i was when Dolan and the like was here and stuck it out cos it was my team I think blaming the owners for everything at every touch and turn weakens the argument but then i am too pragmatic and often see two sides, i have been a drone and a boss and don't prefer either except when you are a boss you have f****ing staff to deal with and you never get paid enough! I therefore see both sides of some of the arguments membership please educate me - i am in the most expensive block in EAST STAND E7 and paying £40 less than last year. The guy 5 foot across the aisle from me in E 6 is paying about £100 less i believe , aren't a lot of adults paying less now? Concessions to me are for typically kids maybe up to 16 and students at Boothferry Park you paid adult entry after 14 years of age and somebody checked you out at the turnstile! We must get as many kids to go as possible for the future I am not paying to subsidise people who are borrowing cards or going in with a relative at 18 years old for bugger all if that is the case is that the truth of it let me know?? The elderly now are the more financially able to pay their way than ever so i am afriad that doesn't warrant special rates at least until they are 70 maybe -I retire at 67 in 8 years so expect to carry on paying , i dont have a good pension in place so will do what i can Don't agree with forced moving of people the reasons for lack of interest from some, is they know it is gonna be very few wins , the tactics will be negative still if Bruce is manager, they dont honestly see us doing a Leicester , fans are now almost against each other which i do blame the Allams for and the novelty has worn off , we like the excitement of getting there like foreplay ! as i just recall !!! good honest new owners would be good and people who know how to get the crowd going , although Hull people are typically pretty quiet based on my travels sorry all off my chest would like some answers that explain things if i have got them wrong cant be doing with lots of petty insults i hope you can rise above that and restore my faith in this site and its positives
Thanks for reminding me about 2 teams. I feel a little uncomfortable with Leicester as my second team, as we'll be in the same league. I think my options are either Peterboro, local to where I live, and I do go see them in any case on occasion. They're quite exciting to watch tbh, they seem to either lose heavily or hump the oppo. See loads of goals usually. They don't ever really win owt though. Or, pick up a foreign team. I'm not hugely taken with European teams, so was thinking something like DC in the US. They haven't won much either, so, I wonder if I should stick with the underdogs, or just pick a decent one that wins a lot so I can wear their shirt with pride? Any suggestions anyone?
I don't know if I'm paying more or less than last year. For me the issue is making people think "I'm alright Jack!" as others are forced out economically. That's not the Hull City way. At least the Hull City that I've known for most of my life. If you travel to an away game, and your car/van/bus broke down, you don't pass by and think "I'm alright Jack!", you make sure they can get home OK and do what you can to assist or get them home. If that meant 7 in a car, 80 on a coach, 30 in a van so be it, you didn't just look after yourself like a ****. I don't like paying by DD - I want to do it all in one go. So basically I want a choice, not some unilateral decision of what suits the club. I also think the shifting of people and the evictions of blocks is utterly ****ish, heavy-handed, foolish and counter-productive. It's the latest (but alas not the last) malign action of arrogant owners who are too thin-skinned to listen to others, and for whom consultation is a sign of weakness.
I'll give it a go answering the questions. On the points you make I don't think I really disagree with any of them, so you'll have to get your petty insults elsewhere Yes I think most adults are paying less, that is because the increased prices for kids and seniors mean that they could reduce adult only prices as on average it works out for them I personally think the issue about people going in on kids tickets was overstated by the club. Some probably did, although as much in protest as anything else. And of course it would have been incredibly easy to resolve as well (in that radical way you describe involving staff looking at people!) I do think the club used it as somewhat of an excuse to justify the scheme, but that's just my opinion. Now of course you definitely won't be paying to subsidise anyone doing that because all kids pay the same price as you do anyway Actually I think they were the only two questions? Hope that was restorative
Really? Show me your working out? Here's mine. All season **** crowds, cos of the allams and what they're doing so 15.000 roughly. Fine principle don't come to games. I respect that. Play off final at Wembley. 25.000. The allams won't stop me supporting my team uff uff. Season renewals. I won't go cos of the allams uff uff. You make choices and stick to them not pick and choose. As an aside. Think the red card protest should have continued for the derby home game and at Wembley. It should continue next season too.
