Can one of Spurs or Porto hurry up and confirm Musa Yahaya's transfer so we can get something in the OP please?

If there's any truth to it, the Wanyama deal is probably dragging on until Koeman's future is resolved. Levy would no doubt vastly prefer haggling with a managerless club rather than one who the players all appear to enjoy playing for. He is a card magnet as NKNG says, but in all honesty we aren't going to get much better than him for the prices being quoted (all less than £20m as I believe he's entering the last year of his contract). Young, plenty of PL experience, knows the manager, and perhaps another factor in this whole equation is that bringing in a player of more or less equal quality to Dier means that we can rely on the latter to cover at CB more than we would be able to if the alternative was someone like Bentaleb or Mason. If we sign a player of Wanyama's calibre, I don't think another CB is necessary.

Last summer I'd have taken Wanyama as at the time we didn't have a recognised DM, now we have Dier who's asserted himself alongside Kante as one of the best DM's in the Prem & Europe. I appreciate Wanyama can be great in the tackle and would add extra bite to the squad but he pretty much guarantees a red card every season and seeing as I can't see him being a regular starter providing Dier and Dembele stay fit, in the games he does feature in, we can't afford to be worrying about whether he'll get sent off or not.

Surely there's got to be a cheaper and better option out there though? There's been a good number of DM's brought to the Prem recently and all have cost less than £10m as far as I'm aware, the likes of Kouyate, Kante, Elneny and Dier (even if originally signed as a CB) have all adjusted easily since their arrivals and all are better than Wanyama in my opinion.

IF Wanyama does indeed join I hope it's for a relatively cheap price, he's entering the last year of his contract so anything over £8m-£10m would be extortionate in my opinion.

Daily Mirror now claim Hugo is set to sign a new deal, having only just recently reported he supposedly rejected an offer. Good to see our top players are being tied down though, I know contracts mean nothing in terms of loyalty these days but it does give more leverage in getting bigger sums when sides come calling.

I think it's safe to rule out a move for Denis Suarez...

Talksport (yes,I know) are reporting we are in a 3 way fight for free agent Nicolas N'Koulou with Schalke and Liverpool. Sod Wanyama, this bloke is very talented and covers Dier, Alderweireld and probably Dembele too. The Mousers will chuck money at him, let's hope he wants to play CL football instead!

    No brainer of a move.

There's a few top players available on a free this summer, not sure if any are considering new deals or have verbally accepted offers elsewhere already but there are guys like Mandanda, Feghouli, Ben Arfa, van der Wiel, N'koulou, Martin Caceres, Veloso and even Tommy Hudd I believe, all these guys would improve most teams in the Prem, if a club was to theoretically try and grab all of those (Football Manager budget transfer speaking!!! <laugh>), you'd have the foundations of a superb side:

    Mandanda
van der Wiel, Caceres, N'koulou, <LB>
    Veloso, Huddlestone
    Feghouli, <CAM>, Ben Arfa
    <CF>

Definitely not Fabio <laugh>, how the **** did I forget Zlatan?! Didn't know about KPB though, adding those two to the side with just a LB to find, that's quite possibly top 6/ top 4 standard.

Surprise, surprise - Wet Spam are now considering a bid for Ante Coric.

Isn't it time we planted a story in the press linking us to the entire Dagenham & Redbridge team, just to see how long it would be before the Spammers popped up to declare an interest?

In other news, we can update the OP at last

I thought that Sonupe was doing quite well? Not well enough, perhaps.

Reportedly, Son has been cleared by the club to play for his country at the Olympics. Apparently, this means he will miss the start of the season.

The club's less than subtle way of saying it doesn't matter, you won't be here at the start of next season!?

I mentioned this in the Bill Nick: while it's an arseache in the short term, as he'll miss the first two to three weeks of the season, in the long term it can be beneficial...as long as South Korea win a medal, considering the South Korean team which won bronze four years ago and each member of their squad had their mandatory military service waived. When put like that, when the options are losing a player for three weeks or 21 months, I'd gamble on the Olympics.

With that in mind, here's South Korea's fixtures...
    4th August - Fiji
    7th August - Germany
    10th August - Mexico
13th August - quarter final vs one of Argentina, Portugal, Algeria or Honduras
17th August - semi final vs one of Brazil, Columbia, Denmark, Sweden, Nigeria, Japan, South Africa or Iraq
    20th August - medal matches

The good news is that Argentina's preliminary squad does not feature any of the following: Messi, Aguero, Higuain, Di Maria, Lamela, Gaitan, Pastore. The bad news is that it still features Dybala, Icardi, Correa and Calleri...
