What we are is a different issue (we can both be bad)... Koeman has a similar task but a steeper improvement needed and with respect to him... he ain't Jurgen Klopp.

Monchi would be great for you... would need the right manager and structure in place though. And he would have to want to leave Spain, come to England, to Liverpool, then Everton. I guess everyone has a price.

It's the structure that Moshiri wants to adopt and his prime target is arguably the best in the business.

Koeman is used to working within that structure and it provides continuity.

Looking at his incredible record Monchi could arguably be a more important signing than Koeman long term

Definitely, Koeman won't do anything significant anyway, just raise the profile of the club (currently criminally underrepresented given it was the 18th richest in the world before the takeover) for the next manager

Hope you've clearly told koeman what's coming and emery better have okd the appointment.

Nothing worse than the new owner deciding both and neither get along then... it has happened!

Anyway..... job 1 is retain most players.. not all though... job 2 is to fix the wings. Job 3 is to then use those wingers to work with full backs to help defense. That should allow for a defensive realignment.

Koeman will put two in front of the cbs. Who will they be.... Barry the slowest player in the league now or will he buy??

    Could say that about anything.

Fact is that Leicester's season was a fantastic anomaly.

Doesn't invalidate Everton being way off the pace right now.

    Where do you stop though?

Vardy scored 5 goals in 34 league games in his first PL season. Are we really going to say "Oh, Kone only scored 5 in 25 last season but there's no reason he can't challenge for the golden boot because Vardy did it"?

Nah, Klopp raised the profile of the club and a squad of players he had not purchased, he also took them to two cup finals in his first 7 months at the club knocking out two very decent European teams and also a regional rival along the way.

He did a fine job at Soton who were relegation candidates after Todgers bought half their 1st team. He got them to within 3 points of the CL within 2 years......

I think he'll prove to be a very canny appointment personally.

I agree he did a good solid job at southampton based on sound defense. We certinly thought they were imploding once poch left and they lost chambers play lambert, lallana and lovern.

He bought pelle and tadic in for half nothing and then loses Schneiderlin and then wanayma has a strop.... he steadied it up and got them playing.

The press are having a field day trying to figure out who everton are after. Long is the next candidate... his agent is such a whore <laugh>

So far we've been linked to half of the Soton first team and assorted others.

Total guesswork based on nowt but the hacks view on where we need to strengthen

So a part season based on 30 games?

His predecessor was in charge for 8 games during the season which included 2 losses and 3 draws, 12 possible points to have been won if Klopp had been appointed last summer.

When Rodgers was sacked you had 12 points from 8 games - 1.5 points per game

Klopp had 30 games and amassed a further 48 points - 1.6 per game

    8 x 0.1 = less than a points difference.........................

A full season with his own players, Jurgen Klopp can be judged on that. Roberto Martinez was there for a full
    season, Klopp finished above him.

So the general consensus is Liverpool's players are bottom half of the table quality and Klopp did well to drag them up to eighth?

He dropped 12 points, he had no EL/FA cup and only 1 LC game to contend with, most importantly Klopp never had a full league season so comparing the percentages of the two in the coming season is the only way to make a fair reflection.
