Everything about this just bores me. Would of preferred Nobby and the controversy that would of brought. When getting Leyton Orient in to the League 1 play offs is the highlight of your managerial career, you know it hasn't gone too well. Slade out.
The only positive is that the highly divisive, but loyal () Charlton fan Paul May promised he would turn his back on the club if they employed Russell Slade. Obviously somebody from within the club caught wind of this and decided to offer him the job.
Told nyou lot he was our new manager last Friday!! Anyway wasn't a fan at first and threatened to walk away if he was appointed then I thought of Fraeye and Peeters so welcome Russell Slade is all I can say. The regime have it right for once, they took their time and have appointed an English manager, things they have been accused of not doing in the past yet still some fans aren't happy! Paul May threatening to walk away from Charlton is akin to Dwight Yorke walking away from Harvey Price. You were never there to start with!
Still, "meh!" Worst off, the cow has not been sacked. Had it been under different owners, I might be inclined to look on the bright side.
Slade is the best of the 6 appointments Roland has made in 2.5 years, which says a lot about the other 5.
http://www.not606.com/threads/new-head-coach-thread.329939/page-4#post-9305419 haha, told you lot last wednesday.
He has been called "manager" by the club and not "head coach" surely that's a positive sign? Welcome slade and good luck, you will need it! Regarding Paul May he posted months ago that he felt nothing for Charlton anymore and felt more of a connection with Wrexham.
Roland enjoys trolling charlton fans. KM is his prized asset in that sense. A shame she's too dippy to see through him.
People are saying that Slade has personally requested that lad from Huddersfield, who was released by them after playing about 20 games in the last 3 seasons. If that is the standard of player that we are looking at then God help us. I can't help thinking that the "stories" earlier this month about George Moncur and Inigo Calderon were precisely that- invented by Meire/Groome and fed to Cawley to cover up for the lack of activity everywhere else within the Club. I am indifferent about Slade and he will get no support from me because ultimately he is set up to fail like the rest of them. It will be interesting to see the dynamics at the press conference today when he sits alongside Pinnochio.
Who said irony was dead Reams has got about as many brain cells as your new forum has got active members. The guy is a plank, but at least he tries to allow debate on his site. I actually think you have got a nerve even posting on here given the way you behave, but fair play to the grown up Mods we have on here.
Seems very likely true. I'd have thought he'd have wanted a look at the playing staff first, and assessing where his meagre budget would be best spent, before bringing anyone in.
Have to be honest - a lot of former players are coming out in support of Slade, and it's very impressive reading on paper. However, it all comes back to RD and KM. If support isn't provided then Slade will be a scapegoat before the end of September. The lad from 'udders sounds a bit like our Harriott, albeit a lot less game time. Their fans appeared reluctant to see him go, but he shouldn't be signed with a first team place in mind. It may well be a move similar to Ansah (without the nepotism).
