Here's a look at the overall record against our opponents next season in all competitions. Teams in blue are for the better record against clubs, red for the worse and black for an even record. I'm hoping this accurate taken from: http://www.bristolrovers-mad.co.uk/head_to_head/next/vs/match/index.shtml MK Dons - PLD 12 W 1 D 4 L 7 GF 10 GA 18 Charlton Athletic - PLD 54 W 19 D 17 L 18 GF 89 GA 92 Bolton Wanderers - PLD 26 W 9 D 7 L 10 GF 27 GA 35 Bradford City - PLD 22 W 13 D 5 L 4 GF 48 GA 30 Bury - PLD 44 W 16 D 12 L 16 GF 57 GA 60 Chesterfield - PLD 33 W 18 D 9 L 6 GF 44 GA 26 Coventry City - PLD 26 W 8 D 6 L 12 GF 39 GA 51 Fleetwood Town - PLD 4 W 1 D 1 L 2 GF 5 GA 6 Gillingham - PLD 94 W 42 D 15 L 37 GF 140 GA 124 Millwall - PLD 79 W 33 D 20 L 26 GF 97 GA 28 Oldham Athletic - PLD 52 W 22 D 12 L 18 GF 71 GA 70 Peterborough United - PLD 33 W 11 D 11 L 11 GF 51 GA 54 Port Vale - PLD 62 W 18 D 18 L 26 GF 73 GA 82 Rochdale - PLD 30 W 5 D 14 L 11 GF 31 GA 40 Scunthorpe United - PLD 34 W 15 D 12 L 7 GF 58 GA 42 Sheffield United - PLD 23 W 9 D 7 L 7 GF 38 GA 39 Shrewsbury Town - PLD W 27 D 13 L 17 GF 89 GA 66 Southend United - PLD 104 W 36 D 25 L 43 GF 153 GA 164 Swindon Town - PLD 88 W 32 D 16 L 40 GF 128 GA 129 Walsall - PLD 91 W 36 D 22 L 33 GF 150 GA 135 Northampton Town - PLD 91 W 28 D 27 L 36 GF 120 GA 148 Oxford United - PLD 18 W 13 D 11 L 13 GF 61 GA 61 AFC Wimbledon - PLD & W 4 D 2 L 1 GF 9 GA 5
Nice work We got some interesting records there! Who would have thought we are got a better head to head over Sheff Utd for example!!
Yup that was surprising and a slightly better record then Charlton and yet we have poor records against Rochdale, MK, Fleetwood and Southend. The most interesting record is that Bradford have never beaten us at home whether in Bristol or Bath.
Recruitment for next season important especially as we don't know who is staying and who is going, get the balance right and we could be in for an interesting season get it wrong and it could be a long season
So now that game is over we have better records against 11 of the teams very surprising didn't know we had a good record against any team
Now we know who we are facing next season, who are you looking forward to facing the most and who do you want 1st game of the season (which will be away by the way)? please log in to view this image
The games I am looking forward to most are Bolton and Coventry (I've never seen those teams) As for our first match, we quite often get paired with Peterborough so I wouldn't be surprised if it was them again.
Well we are definately away 1st game as the following week is the Balloon fiesta meaning City will be away then. So Rovers have to be away the 1st game as they wont have us 2 games in a row at home and City 2 games in a row away.
I'm looking forward to the away games at Coventry...as not been there before. And the might Swindon away of course! First game if it's away... Don't really mind, but a steady start would be good instead of one of the top teams.
Well it worked out that the 1st game of the season was against the team who ended up as champions, Northampton!
Last season the team had to travel 6661 miles. This season the team will have to travel 6731 miles. An extra 70 miles! Bolton, Lancashire. 182 miles. Bradford, West Yorkshire. 210 miles. Bury, Lancashire. 179 miles. Charlton, London. 126 miles. Chesterfield, Derbyshire. 162 miles. Coventry, Warwickshire. 107 miles. Fleetwood, Lancashire. 210 miles. Gillingham, Kent. 171 miles. Millwall, London. 121 miles. MK Dons, Buckinghamshire. 109 miles. Northampton, Northamptonshire. 110 miles. Oldham, Lancashire. 177 miles. Oxford, Oxfordshire. 85 miles. Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. 169 miles. Port Vale, Staffordshire. 130 miles. Rochdale, Lancashire. 185 miles. Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire. 204 miles. Sheffield United, South Yorkshire. 171 miles. Shrewsbury, Shropshire. 127 miles. Southend, Essex. 173 miles. Swindon, Wiltshire. 40 miles. Walsall, West Midlands. 92 miles. Wimbledon, London. 126 miles.
If you only go to one away game make it the Ricoh. Very easy to get there and bars are brilliant. Be careful where to park, simple to park where they advise but difficult to get out after. Park the other side of the dual carriageway and walk under the underpass to the ground. We were warned of trouble there sometimes but in 3 visits have been fine. We took a few thousand so safety in numbers, obviously you lot will take a few million so even safer. Only joking boys.
I will probably do a handful of away games this season, but the Ricoh is at the top. Really want to see there ground, passed it loads of times but never been.
