Again, just to make clear, there's no way he would be my first choice, or probably even 2nd or 3rd. Just wouldn't be upset by it and think it could still be a good appointment IF that's the road we need to go down.
An interesting thought - who do you all think is the best British manager in football currently? (In or out of a job, regardless of whether you want them for Saints)
They were consistently bad away from home against top sides. Plucky ol' Southampton giving the big clubs a run for their money, and often winning? It'd be a thing of the past under Moyes.
i'd....umm....support Moyes, of course. Would I want him? Hell no, sorry. All the wrong messages. But perfectly happy to be proved utterly wrong.
For those who say players don't play for managers and don't care who's in charge. Well there's the first player who is really disappointed. Saying that it is regrettable is a polite way of saying that he's ****ing fuming over it. He'll have to make a re-adjustment, and no doubt Jordy Clasie will too, and all the players with Dutch connections. I'm sure they'll do it but it won't stop them being pissed off for a while. If I had gone through a season and achieved a great step into a European competition, as part of a team, which included my manager as the head, and then he'd ****ed off, I would be steaming. I bet Jose and Kelvin aren't their usual calm selves either, at the moment. Been mulling it over here and there throughout the last couple of days, and I've surprised myself by how I'm OK with it. But if I think about it too much I go back into the shocked state I found myself in when it dawned on me that Koeman is a c***. And if, by some miracle, he doesn't go to Everton, I withdraw all that.
I kind of hear you, but I do think a player will look at the situation far more dispassionately than a fan. If we bring in someone that excites and enthuses the players we really could find ourselves in a far stronger position potentially than keeping Ronald. Big call on the horizon for the club. Going to be interesting the next few months, come what may.
Pellegrini for me - assuming we can afford his wages. Vast experience, a winner, wants to stay in the EPL and will draw players to the club. Only issue for me is would he develop the youth as we would all like.
