hey guys, just wondering what the situation was with him?

my mate txt me last night that there was something on him last night on ESPN about him being frustrated at his situation at PSV and considering coming to us

Mevlut Erdinc - personal terms the stumbling block

That’s what the French press were reporting and the the news a week or so ago that Newcastle had agreed a fee with his club PSG is that Newcastle cannot agree personal terms with the player.

Why is it taking this long to wrap up this deal?

Newcastle’s £6.57M (€7.5M) offer for the player was accepted about a week ago, but Newcastle have now been given just one week to seal the deal by the Paris club, otherwise PSG will allow other clubs to come in.

At least a couple of French teams are interested in the player, Lille and Rennes, but you would think Newcastle would be able to offer Erdinc a better deal than those two clubs.

PSG were bought by a Qatari investment group at the end of May, and they are pumping big money into the club.

And it may be that Mevlut wants to take his chance and stay at the Paris club, but he will find it hard to get a first team place with former Newcastle target Kevin Gameiro now at the club, and other players expected to join before the end of August.

New PSG coach Antoine Kombouare appears to want the player to stay, as he said yesterday:

“For me, Erding is at PSG. I count on him.”

But the pursuit of Erdinc is taking far too long, and Newcastle will have to realize that in some cases, to get a decent player in, you have to pay the going rate in wages.

His agent wants more money. The player will agree terms if we pay more money to his agent.

 

PSG look quite good this season - Gameiro Menez and Pastore have gone there!

 

apparently we havnt even tabled a bid for him:s cummon this is just getting rediculous if its not wrapped up within 3/4 days i doubt we'll make a decent signing by the end of the window...anyone else get the feeling we havnt bid or tried very hard for any strikers? ashleys just trying to get away with spending no money and saying the players stopped the move when in reality we didnt make a serious bid

im pretty sure thts from the nufc blog and the sunday sun (however reliable it is) was saying we havnt tabled a bid

We should've given up on him a lot time ago, this is so annoying, move on and get someone else

 

Carr is a big fan of him, hence why it's gone on for so long.

 

If we don't end up getting him then it will be a lot of time wasted, especially considering he has said he doesn't want to leave PSG.

 

Agree'd. Yet recently there have been conflicting articles saying he wants to come, I just want it to end already.

 

It's hard to know what to believe but we need to either get this concluded soon or move on

 

hes not playing today, not even on the bench in the Emiretes? cup. so he is in England as ive said before he has a loyalty bonus from psg on the first of August so I do expect the deal to be wraped up early next week.

 

He did play yesterday though. Try and get it sorted while he's here.

 

Where's you hear about this loyalty bonus? If this is true it's promising.

 

We need someone in like. I know its early days but I've got a feeling Ba wont be the answer.
I'm not being all doom and gloom but I was expecting him to score before now.x

 

He will sign this week.. It's just a feeling, but he's in England with PSG so it would be easy enough for him to travel up here or the clubs representives to travel down London and finalize the deal.

ba has looked lively in last 2 matches (only going on what im hearing from today) is unlucky not to score by now imo was a brilliant signing still need a really good utility defender and foward and im optomistic for new season
