The first global superstar, recognised all over the world, even in the remotest villages. A trailblazer and a true legend (a term too often used).

Truly the greatest icon of the last 100 years.

    RIP.

Very sad, not a huge boxing fan and bit too young to have ever seen shin fight, but seemed to be a great person just as much as a great boxer.

Irrespective of sport for me there was never a more shining personality.

    He lit up rooms.

Total tragedy he was not front and centre in that last 30-40 years.

    RIP.

His greatest fight was refusing to fight in the war. Stood up to White America, sacrificed his prime years, money and stardom to stand for his beliefs.

Guy was/is a cultural icon and transcended boxing RIP

Be sad but don't be sad, this man accomplished so much in his life, even if you forget the boxing, although that was his platform to try and enact political and social change in America

What was sad is how Parkinsons took the full force of his mind and intellect away from the world and interfered with his life after he stepped away from the ring

Hopefully with the Trump presidential campaign about to go nuclear a large portion of America takes a long hard look at itself once again today and future days thanks to this guy, especially given how he showed Islam to be an ideology for positive change for himself and other individuals given Trump's attempts to villainize an entire religion
