... don't be so defeatist ... top 3 may indeed be beyond Spurs in future, who knows? ...but dare to dream my friend, dare to dream... :)

  2. Assistant manager Ryan Giggs' future at United looks increasingly precarious with Mourinho insistent on bringing in his own staff. The Welshman is "very unhappy" about the idea of a lesser role. (Times - subscription required)

    Tough, eh, Stan?

It will allow Giggs to spend more time shagging.

Giggs needs to go be a manager of a smaller club to get experience, maybe Tottenham or Wolves

I have to keep reminding you not to take things so personally. The reality is that every pundit and player wants to appear to be sticking up for the little guy, following Leicester's achievement. But very few really believe it'll make any difference. They just don't have the balls to say it in public... unlike me :)

... not taking it personally ...I just disagree with you ... "doing a Leicester" is a phrase now being used not just by rival supporters, pundits aand journalists in this country but all over the world .... so I stand by my comments that I think it has given a huge boost to football in general ... I can of course understand the discomfort of supporters of some 'elite' super-monied clubs now facing the propects of several more 'new kids on the block' and that they can't now take annual Champions League participation for granted ... <whistle> .... don't take that personally <laugh>

  9. I think it will do the World of football a massive favour to keep United and Chelsea out of the top 4 for a few more seasons, just as we have 'Pool. The 'Pool pundits now, by and large, accept that 'Pool are a joke club and they have curbed their delusions massively. The days of ex-coke-head, Robbie Fowler, arrogantly declaring that "'Pool deserve to be in't top 4" are long since gone, and all of us - including Mousers - are better off for it. It won't take more than a couple of seasons for that to happen to United.

But you are taking it personally lol. I've already explained to you that pundits and players will say one thing publicly (so as to feel a part of the euphoria of Leicester's title win) but privately they know it means very little. I doubt anyone outside the top 6 or 7 are looking at Leicester and thinking "we can do that". Most are thinking "are there 3 worse teams than us" or "can we finish top half". As far as United are concerned, we'll be competing with the likes of Arsenal, City, Chelsea, possibly Spurs and Liverpool for those top positions and we may very well not finish above any of them. So be it, I know that's a possibility. You see, that's where you need to detach your insecurities from the reality. Until then you'll always be taking it too personally to think straight :)

  13. I've rarely seen teams foul their way to glory like 'Pool in the 70s.
