Depends what kind of roads you're driving on. I do 60 miles on motorway so handy to have car that can accelerate quickly to overtake. If you're only ever driving around 30mph roads then makes bugger all differnce rewlly.
Years ago I had one of the first range of Hyundai to be sold in this country. They were underpricing them in order to break into the market and the spec was way above anything of a comparable price. The build was a bit iffy here and there but nothing drastic, and I think they've improved that a lot since. I suppose they're not cheap any more though, either.
Car's are such a money drainer. Good choice for Hyundai though, cheaper than equivalent models from other manufacturers.
Everyone seems to be praising them, I had no idea I just thought it looked nice so I made some calls and everyone was saying they are reliable and a good all round car so I went with it.
its all baout torque and gearing lads. I had a golf once that was decent then the next car was total MUCK taking off. it was geared for 4th and 5th having the power band. The golf would get about 98mph at a push.. the next one could tip along at 100mph if i wanted to much easier. Deisels have lots and lots of torque but can be sluggish at speed for that power range
bhp as well to some extent, but that's determined by torque and rotational speed ... from a standstill if you want good acceleration yeah torque is what you need, then of course things like mass, weight and aero are factors too
a lot of these cars are simply sluggish due to heavy air con compressors, extra safety stuff etc etc. you are right. IF you want to feel like yeah the tyres spin up on take off fine but in general... I'm not arsed since of got past 14.
Have to say, if they really wanted to make it worse than before they couldn't have picked a better bloke.
