Its friday. Up the road is Frydays. Haddock, chips, scraps and german curry sauce plus dutch mayo. Before anyone says owt, GTF.
It's been there months. It's become my go to. Even the mushy peas are delicious. It has a bar aswell.
Bunch of weirdos Haddock, chips, mushy peas, white bread, butter, cup of tea...then a cold lager to cleanse the palate
I like Papa's. Food is consistent, pots of tea are proper sized pots. Gets busy though. The patties are HUGE. (weirdly they come with salad though!?)
Indeed, I am among them as I undertake my missionary work. One thing, amongst many, that Jawdies canny de right, is fry fish in batter. Bland, grey, soggy, chewy. That's the fish, not the Jawdies. You buggars planning trips to Frydays et al, enjoy your repast, but spare a thought for those less fortunate than yourselves, in less culinary enlightened parts of the world, who, this very evening, will be suffering edible misfortunes, the like of which you can only begin to imagine.
