They are saying Cellino will not be there at the press-conference today.....but I think he is lurking around somewhere!!
Bit of history : Laudrup takes over , brings in players like Michu and Chico ( no , not Pokeman characters ) for less than 2 million each and in his first season wins League cup and has 40 points with 10 games remaining .Michu scores a bundle of goals and Chico proves to be a fantastic CB . During the summer our chairman kicks Laudrup agent out of our affairs over wanting to sell Williams ( our captain and main CB who threatens to leave every window ) . Laudrup overlooks this and demands a striker and gets Wilfried Bony at 12 million .Great signing that our chairman whines about in the media about spending to much on and is not the " Swansea Way " of spending . Eventually we sell Bony for 25 million . Next season we are in Europa and up till before Christmas Laudrup gets us to the 5th round of the FA Cup , into the next stage of Europa and has us on course for 47 points . THEN.....we get massive injuries and play every top team imaginable over the Christmas rat race and have difficulty . There begins to be hard feelings created ( led by Monk ) between groups within the team . Chico and Monk need the cops called to the training ground at one time . Monk is backstabbing Laudrup to our chairman ( who has no use for Laudrup already from the start of the season ) and when we finally get through the Christmas rush playing Man U twice , Man City , Chelsea and other big teams we get our players healthy and have a bit of time before facing lesser teams ...... Laudrup is sacked and Monk is installed as manager , the talking in our chairman's ear seems to have payed off . Monks first game , with a totally healthy team , is last place Cardiff which he wins . After that he knocks us out of both Cups in the least amount of games and goes 9 League games without a win but wins 3 from our last 4 games against sh:t teams which have no meaning to pull us out of the mess . Next season our Chairman showers Monk with another striker ( Gomis on 70, 000 a week ) to go along with Bony and brings in a 7 ,000,000 £ CB ( this spending spree makes Jenkins's ,with previous rant about spending , look like a total fool ) . A lot of players , especially Spanish players are treated like sh:t by Monk because of loyalty for Laudrup . Monk has a good season with the team Laudrup brought along , with the new signings Monk is showered with When he tried to change things to put his own stamp on the team the next season he totally sh:t the bed . I want Leeds to do well with Monk next season but if I was laying a bet ...... Monk will be gone long before Christmas . Enjoy Monks post game interviews that are all about him and little to do with the team . If you win a game , it's his doing ....if you lose , it's finger pointing time .

From the time there was a nibble in the media to the time Monk got the job shows how desperate he was to land a job . I suspect your chairman has teeth marks on his hand . Hope I'm wrong about Monk , maybe he will prove me wrong . Most of Monk's success was helped by our Chairmans need to be proved right about sacking Laudrup and he would have done anything to help Monk . No more silver spoon managerial scenario for Monk now .....sink or swim ...good luck guys and cheers .
Watched it (press conference) pretty boring actually. Avoided question of what is expected (promotion) no mention if he has a say on signings. Maybe I expected too much. Not as excited about Monk as I hoped I would be looking at his managerial stats but better than a few names brandished about. At least we have a coach now, let's get preseason sorted, contracts tied down and some extra quality in.
Maybe donate into my beer drinking fund.....although to fair Glory has always been generous for that cause...
We have a coach who guided Swansea to eight in the pl and beating scum twice that season and again following season.Hell of a lot more than any of our recent managers achieved so he'll do for me. As usual, Ill give him a right few games before moaning. I know thats not the Leeds way, but its Eires
Ristac, according to the roofer he didn't have a say in signings at Swansea so he'll be used to that. It's the quality of the players he gets bought for him here that may come as a surprise.
Agreed, he is a coach and he will be expected to coach the players Cellino brings in and employ the tactics Cellino dictates. Before all you apologists jump up and down wait and see how right this statement is........
