Both him and Robertson need to be tested at top tier level? Both are promising but it's very funny how quickly people forget weaker games.

Also Chester proven at top tier, Maguire not. Maguire might end up being very good, but no point hyping people up beyond what they have so far done. It doesn't score points against anyone, the opposite.

"Top money"? Rosey was happy to retire here and sort out a deal to allow that. If we'd given him a one year deal with an option to one more, on base wage, I'm pretty sure he'd have been happy to take it.

There was a period of the season Robertson looked decidedly average, and a period where Moses ended up playing left back when Andy was suspended. Both would have been much better if we'd had Rosenior as a depth player.

Let's not use the MOM voting as too much of a yardstick, it was all too often difficult for folk to nominate a best of a bad bunch. It more describes how often they were better than the rest, rather than stating they were quality or influential.

Which set of players won us automatic promotion? Which set of players struggled to win the play-offs?

Rosey was worth keeping just for his character and influence in the dressing room.

    Criminal he wasn't kept on.

The deal was put to him and was rejected.

Where's that come from? Everything I've seen from him and in the media was the contract was withdrawn before he had the chance to accept.

I was told it at the time, I can't say who told me, because I can't remember. Both he and McShane were offered the same deal, one with reduced wages. Steve Bruce knew he could replace them with 3 players on the same wage as they got between them. He needed the extra player.
All Hull City players were under real pressure to accept wage cuts.

It's also funny how people forget their stronger games. Depends on your mindset I suppose.

Dave's had a brilliant first season with us. Robbo not so good.

Robertson has been tested at top tier level. He applied himself very well for a young full back & wing back. He's also been tested at international level where he has also been highly praised.

Any player, or indeed any commodity, is worth what someone will pay for it.

    I'd still have kept Rosie.

I was never bothered about the other two.

to put some things into perspective, Rosie started 5 games, Quinn, 17 games and despite being put on the naughty step, Macca started 19 games - Macca was the one who was unfortunate to miss out, Rosie just wasn't part of Brucies plans and Quinny wanted out anyway cos he was pissed with Brucie for not selecting him more - absolutely the wrong decision to let both of them go as we've struggled with back up for Odubajo and Robertson this season as Taylor, Clucas and Elmo are not good enough as out and out full backs

As much as I appreciated the qualities of all three, none of them was really missed and replacements more than made up for the loss.

Our promotion odds shortened dramatically when we finally closed the stable door on McShame.
Rosenior was good but Odders is younger and better.
Of the three, I thought we might miss Quinn who is an unusual little player, very tricky and useful in a tight midfield game where he can weave around the bigger players with the ball glued to his toe.

I still smile when I see our goals from the 2014 Cup Final, when for the second one Quinny ties Ramsey in knots and completely wrongfoots him before putting in his cross.

I'm sure if given the chance he would've personally congratulated everybody at the club except SB

Quinn could have played a part this season though I didn't disagree with him going or Mcshane for that matter. In fact I thought we would be able to get by without Rosy really, though early on Dave and Elmo were not linking up at all and also Dave was starting games very nervously. Very encouraging that Elmo is back from his head holiday now, we look great down the right side for the Prem.

Head holiday? He's been twagging it for the first 40 or so games this season.
Shocking, shocking attitude. Bruce needs to think long and hard before offering a new contract to such a fickle ****.

I think Bruce said he'd had his 'head turned' so can't disagree really, it did seem like he downed tools. I think we need to keep him anyway, his ability to win those headers on the right gives us such an outlet as well as the rest of his game. I bet Snodgrass is pissed off though at losing his position on the right
