I'm currently with Sky but fed up with their constant unjustified price hikes.
I've managed to get some time limited discounts on the TV side for a short time but am struggling with the Fibre broadband offers... there aren't any at Sky !
Talk Talk have probably the best offer going but when I read the customer comments they appear to be a disaster zone for customer service, so is BT, so is Virgin !!
As usual, the more reviews you read the more confusing it is.
Anyone have any views, perhaps a smaller independant ISP who offers good service at a good price ?
    Thanks..

Hell no to Talktalk!! From my experience they are awful and liars to boot!
Virgin are worse for price hikes!

    They go, BT!!

I've got sky fibre, half price at £10 for 12 months. Offer runs out soon, I will be tempted to tell them where to go as I've had nothing but trouble for ages with it (they recently changed the four-month old router and it seems to be working ok now).

All the same, you get what you pay for in the end.

I have Virgins VIVID broadband and cant fault it.

I rang Sky yesterday and the best price I was offered was £20pm ! Ive just called them again threatening cancellation and the same offer you have was offered to me so have taken the £10pm deal - its £4 pm more than my normal broadband and supposedly 4 times faster.... we'll see !
    Thanks for the comments..

It's all the same the fact is its exactly the same exchange with a different Box mate.

If it's unlimited there's no difference whatsoever.

    Virgin all the way.
Been customer of theirs for years and also used to install for them. They are much much better. Fibre optic cables rather than telephone exchanges

From my experiences I would never go back to Talktalk. Customer service is non existent. Currently with Plus net and everything is okay and the customer service is the best of the internet providers I've come across.

Not so far mate, it's been great so far since I fired it up on Thursday I think it was, better than the old sky router anyway.

Getting the Q Tv boxes on the 15th which work as wifi boosters thoughout the house as well apparently.

I'm moving to sky Q, been regular with sky for a while and they are best imo. Bt have issues with multiple device connections, Virgin hike prices even worse and talk talk are just a bad IT company. Data privacy, anyone?!

I've been on Virgin for years without any problems. Very fast broadband, even if not on top packages.

That is true and applies to everybody, apart from Virgin Media. They have their own fibre optic cable network.

indeed. The non Virgin stuff is BT's and they rent it out to others like Sky.
BT are going for market dominance on a lot of fronts now so expect some competetive deals all round in the next year.
Also... BT have raised the entry level speed of its fibre to 52mbps (sky is currently 40mbps) so expext others to follow suit and give you faster speeds for free.

As an aside.. A house in York last year pulled 942 mbps. Outrageous.
