It's been bugging me a bit as to what assurances you can build in a contract? Given players will leave he won't fully know what he needs just yet, even over 2 windows. I wonder if NUFC have agreed to give him, say £20m per window + any player sales revenue? How do you think it panned out?
It's all business to him though isn't it? We'll already have funds from the parachute payments, and hopefully the likes of Sissoko, Colo and Gini will be moved on and raise decent funds....with all that in mind, £40m is a small sum to invest when the financial reward of a return to the Prem is £170m. Not investing and missing out on promotion would be a financial disaster to Ashley, yes he's fat and stupid, but he's ruthless when it comes to money, and will put the funds out to secure this.
2-3 seasons where he didn't put the funds out to secure our long term premiership status last season was too little too late
What's interesting is that Rafa said he doesn't have to sell anyone he doesn't want to. To me that says that there aren't buy out clauses in the some of the players' contracts as reported and more importantly the club aren't going to force him to sell anyone.
I don't think Ashley will inject any of his own cash at all, as such. NUFC will have to borrow the money from him in the form of yet another loan. So technically yes he is putting money in but all he is doing is extending the clubs overdraft which means that the 'For Sale' price goes up even further because he wants ALL of his money back at some point. Charnley and Carr and to some extent McClaren blowing all of the money that NUFC had 'saved up' will come back to bite us. Only NUFC could get a multi billionaire that wont part with the steam off his own ****!!
For a fat **** I guess that's a lot of **** and therein steam. It would create almost an industrial sized dung sauna.
