Sorry I should have been more precise. You are one boring and sad little man. I pity you , I honestly do .
Well i wont be buying the new shirt.... i just dont like the ****ty cash converters logo... BUT i will still wear the Hull City Badge only it will be on one of my other City shirts bought over the years.... Problem solved...
I have pride in the badge not the sponsor dont worry about that thats why I would rather wear an older kit
Were you burned with cigarettes as a child? You come across as the kind of person that would kick somebody in if they looked at you and smiled. Chill out, if people want to wear the kit, they will, they paid the money for it, they can do what they like. I suppored HCAFC through thick and thin, will I be buying this seasons shirt? Possibly, I couldn't give two ****s about the sponsor. But if I didn't, I wouldn't be any less of a City fan. I know I support the club, I tell people who I support if they ask me, but otherwise, I don't have to prove anything to anybody; I know who I support and nobody can tell me I don't. If you think something as basic as not wearing a shirt constitutes bad support, then you are a bit of a tit. The kind that is more interested in spending the game slagging of the South Stand for not singing instead of watching the game. Or boos when Richard Garica comes on. Grow the **** up, stop talking like an internet hardman and learn to be less ignorant.
Doveston, you started off well with a decent discussion about something relevant and then you had to go over the top again and mug someones wife off. You really are a little nasty piece of work. Back on topic, if you was really that bothered about the sponsor you wouldn't but the shirt in the first place. By not buying the shirt you're not helping the club (financially) therefore, you need to think before having a go at others who are prepared to wear the CITY shirt no matter what's on the front. Saying that it'd be interesting to see (have a trial season) were they sell the 2 shirts, one with a sponsor and one without. My suggestion would be to charge 10-15 quid more for a shirt without a sponsor, after all the sponsors are paying the club well to have their brand out there and this extra money would go straight to the sponsor for loss of advertising, then you would possibly have a win win situation for the sponsors and the fans
People are entitled to buy and wear the shirt as they please. I agree with the poster who said about not having sponsers altogether. I can't remember a time when there wasn't sponsers, but it seems to make way for a more traditional shirt which going by the West Brom example seems to be popular. Money talks though i guess. Whether i'll buy the shirt yet or not i don't know, as a student you always have to think about whether to spend 40/45 quid on a luxury. No one's support should be drawn into question should they buy the shirt or not, there are plenty more ways to show your support for the team.
I have all the home kits going back to the Riding Bitter sponsored one in about 1987-88 so I have got this one too. Regardless of sponsor the kit has really grown on me and I think that it is the best we have had since the 1st prem season. On the Cash Converters issue I wonder if there is a split on whether it is hated or indifferent based on where people live. When this debate started it seemed that it was people who lived in Hull who were against the sponsor while people who now lived away were not so bothered by the perceived negative connotations. Is this a far too rough generalisation? For the record I live away now.
I live away too and have done for numerous years now. I'm not bothered about the sponsor as such but I wish it was printed in a similar way to the Motherwell version. I'll probably buy the away kit at some stage
I wouldn't buy it because it isn't even the same colour on the sleeves and body, the top bit is almost yellow and the stripes are dark orange. The quality is terrible and the logo just adds to the disappointment of the shirt. Bring back Umbro.
If I didn't like the sponsor (which I don't) why would I want my extra £10 - £15 to got to them? It should go to the club, to make up for the fact that they are not receiving ad. money from the shirt I buy!
The money is going to the sponsor? Thats insane. Who brokered that deal Duffen? Are the new owners taking tips from him or something.
I'll buy a training top, tracksuit top, and some pies at the matches. I'll continue to support the club, got my season ticket, will no doubt buy the odd t-shirt and numerous pints on match day. But will never never buy anything with Cash Convertors on. Ever.
I'm not saying just cash converters, I suggesting any shirt sponsor. It seems more fans would buy a shirt without a sponsor, but not enough to cover the money the sponsors give the club, therefore, if we produce shirts without a sponsor its got to be worth their while to allow it, as they're losing advertising space
wore mine in leeds yesterday. oops! got some stick from some leeds scumbag so i politely reminded him that ten years ago no leeds fan cared about hull city one bit. so what happened? have hull got big or have leeds got small? cos now you lot spend half your time trying to take the piss! ps, arent you lot in the **** cos bates is gonna be investigated by FA? oh, and then i ran. really fast!
Yep - but the extra £10 - £15 has to go to the club, to make up for the money the club doesn't get paid by the sponsor. The sponsor obviously isn't going to pay sponsorship money where a shirt is sold without their ad/logo on it. Wonder how many fans would buy one (which is your original question)?
I went into the shop yesterday to buy some shorts (£18!) for my Holiday. I briefly considered getting the shirt but the sponsor put me off, that black rectangle really does look horrendous. It wouldn't matter what sponsor we had, it would still look bad on that shirt. I asked the cretin behind the counter how the shirts had been selling. He told me ,"I don't know".
gobsmacked by that last line! how do some people get employed? question to those who have bought the shirt or at least analysed it in the shop.. Is the badge sew-on (like Umbro was) or hot pressed on (like last season)? and is the material as flimsy?
