So the only titles that are relevant are La Liga, the CL and the PL? Bizarre!

You should stick to picking lint off your cardigan!

... yes that's exactly what I said <doh> ... I have merely pointed out that whilst Zlatan has plenty of titles but is unproven in a really competitive league like the EPL plus he has fallen short in the Champions League ... indeed he was also marginalised by Pep Guardiola when he was at Barcelona (when you would have thought he would have been at his peak) he has been strolling arouns at PSG for the last few seasons in what has become almost a series of training games in terms of the league ... certainly it is the least competitive of the major European leagues ... so me having doubts that he will cut it in the EPL at his age is hardly bizarre ..

You should stick to avoiding getting bits of loo paper on your nose ...

..oooh touched a nerve Stan .. nose bleed? ... he may have ... I think Ballotelli may also have won a title or two in Italy ... but the actual debate is whether Zlatan can make a difference in the Prem league at his age ... I doubt that he can for the reasons I have stated ... too old, and shown his best when the game is played at a more sedate pace ... whether by the style of football or because the league is not that competitive .. now I can see you are getting upset so I'll leave you alone ... perhaps you should also blow your nose. .

You can come back and tell me I was wrong when Zlatan wins the golden boot next season and his goals have taken United to the title :)

Bluey likes to use that touched a nerve line when he's ****ed up. He is a man of very limited intelligence though.

"I have merely pointed out that whilst Zlatan has plenty of titles but is unproven in a really competitive league" - said by a dull man in a cardigan.

He won Serie A with 3 different teams. What an uncompetitive league, you clueless, dull twat!

I've never been a particular fan of Zlatan and have my reservations about how well he'd do at United but it would have been remiss not to point out that, as usual, you're talking **** about a subject you know the square root of **** all about.

By the way, nice use of Balotelli as a comparison. He won three titles with Inter at the time Zlatan was there.

Zlatan played 88 league games and scored 57 goals. Mario played 59 league games and scored 20 goals.

... which in fairness is the only time I have really seen him this season ... but is why I voiced my thoughts ... he was hardly up against the best defence in the EPL there was he?

Don't misunderstand me .. I think he has been an incredible talent in his time (if just short of the likes of the Barca 3, Ronado and some others) ... but I'd be far more worried by Martal and Rashford personally in terms of next season and beyond ... and if you were to play Rooney AND Ibra together you will be slowing the game down to walking pace (hardly the 'United way') ...

Rooney has ample pace to play at centre midfield. He won't be used as a striker if Ibra is signed, and unlikely at ten.

If Ibra plays behind the striker with Rashford as nine and Martial and a n other either side then it's not a problem. Even if Ibra plays as striker with Martial and Rashford either side it is also not a problem.

Eric Cantona scored loads of goals for United as centre forward and he wasn't exactly lightning quick. He had Giggs and Kanckelskis/Sharpe as wingers in a 4 4 2, all of whom were very quick, and it didn't ever seem to matter. A good deal of pace is in the brain.

As did Sheringham and Van Persie. Dwight Yorke didn't have all that much pace either.

A side which plays with pace always has room for a striker with a good brain and the power to hold off defenders whilst the faster players exploit the resulting space. One who can bang in a load of goals himself is just a bonus <ok>

Sure the quadruple your wages offer he got had nothing to do with it <whistle>

Missing out on CL in Prem means **** all when it comes to buying players, because all Prem clubs can give them 150k a week no problem, the type of wages only the very top clubs in the rest of Europe can afford and in the grand scheme of things, 90% of players will chose the club offering the most money compared to playing in the CL.

Just look at amount of players going to China, hardly going there for the standard of football are they.

Can you name any player at his peak going to China? When we see the likes of Reus or Martial or Suarez going to China instead of wanting to play in the best leagues or in the CL, then you may have a point. The wages are one factor but not THE factor, if you're a talented player wanting to play for the best clubs in the world and be a part of their success.

Extenuating circumstances and very much the exception to the rule. At 26 and with little or no interest up to that point. It seems the selling club got a very nice deal and the player got a way out?

Ramires? What was he, 28 and playing CL football with Chelsea.

Jackson Martinez another one. From Atletico to China.

    Paulinho
    Gervinho
    Fredy Guarin

All moved from teams in CL or challenging to China.

    Money talks.

Still, what you're talking about is a player (and selling club) looking for one final pay day. Do you think if Man City or Atletico Madrid had come in for him, he wouldn't be there right now?
