*22 (20 in league) goals - the most a City striker has scored in a season since some bloke called Elliott in 2004/5

*Has scored some beauties too including an overhead (vs Charlton?) of which only 2 I think were pens.

*Has adjusted to the English game

*Gets the experience of playing & training with Suarez & Cavani on international duty with Uruguay

    *Workrate has improved

*At 25 is probably at his peak as a striker

So, what do we expect of him in the PL? Will he cut the mustard?

He needs another striker to support him and/or take the pressure off him

This is always the point. If we create more chances we can get more goals, and maybe the strikers we've had in the past would have scored more.

I'd be happier with Bruce staying if he brought in someone else to help with the attacking side of things. He'll never do that though, his pride would be hurt. Phelan was brought in but only to do stats stuff probably.

For all my slating of Huddlestone, I think he is the answer to our attacking problems. He can pass a ball perfectly of a distance, however in the position he has played, more defensively, I think that most opposition defenders see his passes coming from a mile away! If he was played further forward, possibly behind a front 2 or behind Abel H, but kind of alongside Diame, not having to worry about defending, then it could work!

I think we need a big number 9 for Abel to play off, especially with those balls from Huddlestone

We've seen a few times how Diamé can pick him out but it hasn't been consistent enough

Yes and I think number three on you're list is the biggest factor.

We need to not be relying on just him. Whether it's a partner for him or an alternative to him, a good striker should be top of our list of priorities. It should be a fairly short list by the way. Quality not quantity is what this squad needs.

When it gets to mid February and we're having a bit of a wobble which happens to all teams, I don't want Hernandez waving his arms about in frustration to be our only option for Stoke away. I'd want someone who can fight for the ball and win it. Hernandez is excellent when we're dominating but that won't always happen. We'll need fighters particularly up front.

    He's good
He'll still be good next season
He's even better when he plays with another striker
He needs someone else to play instead of him in some games, particularly when we go one up top and are playing defensively
    He's a good age
He seems to give a ****
He seems to really like scoring goals...this is a good trait for a striker
His hair / wig can sometimes be ****
    He came from Italy
    To play for Hull City

I'd say at least another 2 strikers, which have to be considerable proven strikers. It also depends how desperate he is for a return to Italy?

Ricky Lambert would be a good addition alongside Hernandez. I'd also love us to sign someone like Dwight Gayle if he was available!

My feeling is that in order for him to get back to a top Italian team, he'll need to have a good season in the PL next year.
To achieve that, he'll need far more help than he received with City's current squad this year. He's a goal poacher, in the mold of a Law, Greaves or Lineker.
So a foil (hold-up man) up front with him and an incisive attacking midfielder to release him/create chances for him. I'm amazed he scored as many as he did this season with the support he had, but despite that I doubt a top Italian team would take a risk until he proves himself at the higher level..
