Fabricio Coloccini speaking to Argentinian media: "I want to return to Argentina and San Lorenzo is the priority, of course". This is a new quote from him in the past 24 hours.....
Good! Thank you for two good seasons (1 in the championship) and a handful of games in the rest of your time here when you could be arsed!
No thanks from me, good fecking riddance; endemic of the issues at the club, seemed to be playing at the request of the owner a lot of the time. Captain without any leadership qualities. On a handful of occasions did what he's supposed to for £80k a week, then wasn't worth much more than £80 per week.
Thank you and goodbye, long past overdue. I would love to be able to say Captain Colo's departure saddens me but l can't. He has given so little in recent seasons and merely used the club for his own benefit. If he had been allowed, he would have quit on us when we really needed him. Since then he has coasted along, picking up his salary, constantly injured, not leading by example as a Captain ought too, putting in the very rare decent performance. We need younger, hungrier fighters, who fill with pride pulling on the shirt, not some hanger on leaching the life out of our club. I don't know if he really will depart as he has a year left on his contract, but l hope he does to free up a place for someone who might give a fook.
If we're to lose Saylor and Colo in one summer window, I'm looking forward to who Rafa has in mind to replace them. Lascelles and Mbemba will do fine next season, but we need some reliable (and fit) cover for injuries and suspensions.
I don't wish any ill on Colo and I think he has had a couple of decent seasons. The time has come for his departure, and to be honest it hasn't worked out well retaining him against his will. His heart was never really in it.
Rumours that San Lorenzo don't want him, so he can't force through his dream move to some tiny mickey mouse Argie club. And because of his "respect" for us, he wouldn't join anyone else. We really rather not have your respect and he be rid of you than have your respect and be stuck with you! Cleansing of the squad needs to take place, and him and Saylor are top of the list.
I will personnaly pack his bags, drive him to the airport, buy him his 200 Rothmans, a bottle of Tequila and a Fray Bentos plate-sized beef pie, chuck him on the plane and happily wave the lazy twat off. C**T..
He's had a couple of good seasons, but the power he's wielded in the dressing room and his retention of the captaincy against all good sense have really soured things. I'm sure I've read about a couple of players in the past who have been shown the exit or sidelined because of Colo's influence. He should have been kept as a talented CB and sold when that talent began to dry up. Shame he's in the position he's currently in because predictably the fans are turning on him in spite of the decent job he's done for us in the past.
It takes nothing to thank him for his efforts and wave him off gracefully into the sunset. A shame that many NUFC fans have problems with this concept when players are leaving or no longer deemed up to it.
8 seasons on 80K a week? Jesus Christ (looking at your avatar), thats £33,280,000 in total so far in wages, plus any bonuses !!! Yes thats 33 million pounds.plus shift allowances, probably nearer £35.000,000 He will be going nowhere I bet!!!
Did you not watch the Panorama program on Tax Havens, ( not Shaven Havens, that`s a different programme). He will be paying next to nowt in tax, the ****, How many decent players could we have bought with his wages. I hope he goes, but I think he will stay, for one last huge payslip.!
I expect him to stay for next season. I just hope he doesn't hold the cards with the option on his contract for a one year extension for the 2017/18 season. Two more years of him robbing a living would be too much to stomach.
