There's a maccy d's & a couple of pubs near to the ground, but apart from that it's really on the outskirts of Beeston so it's all residential. If you want more stuff to do I'd stay in town for a bit longer. And then walk over when ready or get a shuttle bus. Never used the buses myself as I live nearby and can just walk over the park opposite my flat and I'm on Whitehall road and met my friends outside the ground the couple of times I've went to watch Leeds last season (one of my mates is a diehard Leeds fan). "The shuttle buses cost £2.50 return. As you come out of the station main entrance, cross the road and take the stairs down to the street below. Turn right and cross the road and you will see the double-decker buses lined up. The first bus in the queue also sells the tickets for all the other buses. The buses drop off and pick up at the corner of the North and East stands. It's best to get a return ticket as then you don't have to queue up after the match to get a ticket back to the station, you just walk straight onto the bus." Found this on the local bus/transport company website, which confirms the above: http://www.wymetro.com/travelnews/special#EllandRoad
Yes, it's my fault we aren't in double the debt. Plus, my vote didn't count, my area is Labour. And tbh, I couldn't really care
I guess these might be useful for any car-users travelling down: http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20110727/important-travel-information-for-fans_2247585_2403254 http://nufcblog.org/
How long does in take to drive from Newcastle to Leeds? I'm on a bus leaving from North Shields at 10:30 so what time do you reckon I'll be in Leeds for?
The "Party in the Park" live gig at Temple Newsam Park (just off the M1 at junction 46) also means that 70,000 punters will be heading there on Sunday for a 1pm start. ________________________________________ Heard about that and was thinking it could cause quite a traffic build up. The police are quite good at getting the supporters coaches through the congestion though.
Be about 12.30, though traffic can be poor so could be 1ish. Remember last time I went setting off at 11, getting into Leeds at 12.30 and missed the kick off which was 2 because the traffic in Leeds was so bad.
