hmmm. Hard question. I felt they tried a little cheap dressing in studio to get more fans in. the once reported waiting list to go to the show was mad... that was about it for the format. same music, same logo... not that its not thier right of course. but they could have changed something there.... the star in a car bit is a bit silly track wise. the point was you could pull someone in and throw them in a cheap car.. they can't do much wrong and then on they go... Now its.. you wanna roll this car? thye dug in a jump and a 90° bend plus water and a hair pin... so... like i can see someone plough themselves out of it and if you just plough round constantly they'll have to have done serious work for it not to just cut up... that IMO is a non upgrade. They sued the same sofa and chairs for the sit down. they used the same lap time board for the super cars.. did they even change the writing? they did the stig two made up comments stuff I fell it was a very much. BBC saying we own this stuff not anyone else but the reality is they bought all this from clarkson and producer only a few years back so actually.... ah i dunno... i think they needed to change more yes. how to change it? I dunno the show had a great run and frankly the three amigos were getting very old. They could have got 3 young lads and turned they everything was better in the past stuff around to everything is better now and gone high tech. My main thing would have been if you are going to pack in some bits don't go put the cheap and nasty reliant robins in as the first bit. They could have gone to that stuff later and stuck this big fast cars first up.
The grand tour sounds like an epic version of 3 men in a boat.... I do think had top gear not been sold so widely and made so much money they would not have done this. wonder how much they are playing joey? 1mil? more?
Spoiler: GoT spoils of thrones Thinking about the Sparrow situation more, Margaery has likely manipulated Tommen into accepting the faith as a means to get out of the dungeon and doing her atonement walk, pretty clever, i don't think for one second that she believes in all that but Tommen definitely does since he's young and gullible. It could go either way there either Marg keeps the Sparrow on side and plays him until a situation arises where he can be despatched with no harm coming to her and her family or now she's out of jail she'll immediately plot with her family and the Lannister forces to go **** **** up asap. Can see Tommen not having a good outcome in either situation as he is clearly committed to the faith so will probs have to die for that to be eradicated as the Lanniesters and Tyrells wish Then the final Danaerys scene was too contrived for me, the CGI also didn't come across very well, looked too CGI ! They can do CGI well such as the various battles, like at the wall. Also why do they always have her big scenes ending the episode as well. Felt like not much thought had gone into that and repetitive. Am assuming the final few episodes will make up for this laziness. Was a vanilla episode for me overall, had some cool parts but some stupid stuff as well like Benjen arriving in the nick of time to save curls and ****eduplegs what a coinkidink, the Dothraki letting Danaerys wander off on her own c'mon guys
Spoiler: teckno unce unce unce That possibility is there. it was first time she'd seen him so i can't say what was going to happen before the troops marched in. perhaps it was always going to be you sinned and you are forgiven. i don't know. I just think the sparrow looked like he backed down... I'm not sure till i see it again. I agree with you that she was completely lieing. I think unfortunately its all a bit of a mess now as cercei faield t known anything he was up to.. now sparrow has his ear but then margerine might get home and say **** that **** and it all changes again ans the entir eplot looks silly. I wonder if she'll keep it going to get the borther out??? It needs a scene between her and granny. Blondies scene where she smells something then trotts off was indeed contrived but perhaps the intent was for it to show her manipulating the horse buggerers further I thought the bran and arya scenes were excellent they made the thing. there was a lot packed in... these two.. the fat bloke, the walter frey scene, the dissappointing none entity at the walk of shame... lots there Next show will be fun
Spoiler: Arya I still can't predict where her story will take her yet. Will she assassinate Cersei? As for the waif that is hunting her, she'll kill her by the end of this season I think. Would be great to see Arya find her Direwolf by the end of this season. Hers and Ghost are the only two left, they'll be key imo.
Spoiler: spoilsofthrones So watched back some earlier clips of Benjen Stark and this week's again. Dude's a feckin badass, show needs a badass
Seems to me that the BBC panic when Clarkson and co left. The idea that they would have to change the presenters suddenly out weighted the idea of changing the format of the show. That they didn't believe they could change both at the same time as it might loose viewers. But what they've done is worse, they taken a concept the relies heavily on interaction and chemistry of the presenters and tried shove two people together who have probably only met a couple of times before. They could have gone down the Car show route, but frankly unless you are really into cars thats really really boring, you only have to watch Fifth Gear to see that. I think they rushed back into creating a new Top Gear in order to beat the Trio, they rushed picking the presenters (Chris Evans was a poor choice from the start, he's not well liked; a real Marmite presenter) and rushed back into production which meant there was no time for proper changes.
One thought might be the delay in the show debut shows they've spent so long doing segments on location and teaching evans apparently how to actually talk and drive that they just are not after spending long enough to build the show part. I think evans is experienced enough to know from the feedback he's got to change it now this week and do better next time. There's things they can do this week to improve on the experience. I might even agree that they'll stick this season then change things next season.
Spoiler: SpoilsofSpoils He's ****ing brilliant. Who else goes round with a flaming mace as a weapon of choice? This weeks episode was pretty bland but it sets up a few things in motion. Atm I can see Littlefinger going to help Blackfish because he needs someone experienced to lead his army (he doesn't like the old guy in the Vale and Robyn Arryn is a ****ing pathetic little weasel) and he needs to make allies with someone Sansa would trust. I can see maybe Howland Reed featuring at some point and coming to Jon Snow's aid and telling him of his parentage at the same time.
Spoiler: Spoils Hadnt thought of that. The Blackfish leading his and the Knights of the Vale it would unstoppable. Them and Jons northern allies + Wildlings would crush the Boltons and their allies.
Spoiler: spoilz I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't show the battle at Riverrun, and just mentioned Littlefinger & the Knights of the Vale going there, then they'll intervene at a critical moment in the Jon Snow vs Ramsay Bolton battle. Though thats more Lord of the Rings type fantasy, I can imagine G RR Martin more like lets get Blackfish horribly killed, the Vale army destroyed and Ramsay Bolton to beat Jon Snow
Spoiler: Battles I said this at the start of the season. I see Sansa somehow ending up at Riverrun and charging into battle with the Knights of the Vale just as its about to go tits up for Jon. I think her and Jon will realise they haven't got enough fighters and she goes to Littlefinger for his help, maybe agreeing to marry him in return for his help?
Spoiler: GameOfThronez Just watched the trailer for Episode 7. Blackfish Vs Jamie Lannister & the Freys Looking at the banners in Sansa's scenes they seem to have gone to request help from house Mormont (the bear sigil) & a house with a red fist sigil (which seems to be house Glover)
Spoiler: spoilsofwinter you wonder after this week's flash backs if Aerys Targaryen the mad king went mad because of what he knew was going to happen to humanity in future due to him being able to have premonitions of some sort, or being connected with Bran or another seer at one point, his 'Burn them all!' outbursts seem oddly close to what people will need to do to the white walkers and their army
