He's all talk though. I'd happily have a bet on United and Liverpool's league finishes next season but Astro would [HASHTAG]#bottleit[/HASHTAG] the same as he did last season. Big talk, small balls; that's Astro!

£20 charity bet on Liverpool v Man Utd final league position?

Not sure why people think him turning down PSG is a big deal?

Any manager at the top of his game would want a challenge, surely?

The challenge with PSG is only the CL. Which is a few CL league matches and some KO matches. The French league is more of a walk over than the Scottish one. I read that the French are desperate to rectify that one horse nature of their league but I am not sure how it could be sorted unless other clubs get similarly rich owners or the income is more evenly distributed.

It is a shocking league, must be such a bore if you're French. I think the reason why PSG will always struggle (in comparison to the big Euro teams) in the CL is because they're used to playing against poor teams. Players like Ben Arfa are setting the league alight (apparently). I think I'd rather watch the SPL than that ****e!

That UTD fans is why Jose doesn't fancy PSG <ok>

BTW I was away most of last week, anyone know if Everton have a manager yet?

No but I had a look on their board earlier and they were holding out for Jose..

And they call us deluded FFS <laugh>

I think Moyes might fancy another pop at relegation.

Good job they sacked Martinez before the end of the season and had to pay him extra compensation then wasn't it

Personally, i actually like Jose. Think he has potential to be the greatest manager ever - would much rather have seen him go to Paris. People that say he cant do it on a budget are wrong. Porto was done on budget. I also think he will be at Utd four possibly five - regretably, trophy laden years. He is a born winner, and a nice guy off pitch tbh. Really wish he hadnt gone there. Only thing that he ever did that upset me was go on about the ghost goal. Chiefly because that goal never altered Chelsea's goal that night - which was simply - they had to score and they failed 1-1 would have seen them through. Tbf i agree with Jose that it was never a goal. It was however, a pen and sending off.
Think Jose will go on to manage a country after an extended stay with Utd. Hope he goes on to manage England as i think he will be successful internationally also. If he does this - he will be the greatest of all time.
Really hope that we are up there too but THIS was a great move by Utd imho. :(

I agree to a certain extent. For all the caveats of big clubs, big money, boring football, lack of long-term planning etc., his success as a manager is undeniable. I also don't mind a lot of stuff that he says, as it's blatant playing for the media/deflecting attention from the team/attempted mind games etc. He can be a good loser at times, which makes the times he's a bad loser all the more frustrating. It's things where he crosses the line like the eye-gouging and the whole Carneiro situation that really marks him out though.

He'll get Man U back into the Champions League and quite possibly/probably the title, sadly.

Also - the ball clearly crossed the line!!!

People that say he cant do it on a budget are wrong. Porto was done on budget.

When in Porto he had the biggest budget of all the Portuguese clubs, so he must have had the pick of the upcoming and established Brazilians and South Americans.

lets be honest... there was a seminal moment in his career in 2004.. nearly out of CL to utd then scores late late goal and the rest is history. that year in CL...i think thats the last time a real shcok final occured... ok i mean sure LFC in final in 2005 was amazing but this was monaco v porto. since then the finals had big match ups.

Mourinho's won 8? league titles? you can't argue with that. Irrespective of resources we've seen others not deliver this.. such as pelligrini at city....

I am a little sceptical about Mourinho in United, it's either a success or a complete failure, because there are so many good managers around. Every one of them would like to put one over him.
