Will we ever be a top performing club again?

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Sharpe*, May 23, 2016.

?

How long will it take us to become a challenger for the title?

  1. Next year. No teams are strong. We have no European football so will challenge.

    29.4%
  2. 2-3 years slowly building a team under Klopp.

    11.8%
  3. Depends on who we buy.

    5.9%
  4. With our transfer policy we'll never compete with the likes of Chelsea, City and United.

    11.8%
  5. I have absolutely no idea!

    41.2%

trouble is they are like 2 aging british heavyweights just leaning on each other in the middle of the ring grunting but too tired to land a decent punch

Performance in europe has PROVED how poorly the top clubs in england have performed.. the fact italy kept catching us shows that

for 5 or more years we've been consistently sinking down and taking less and less coefficent points

There's a reliable source on another site who claims that the FSG are in initial talks with two parties over selling the club.

I'm not an expert, but I'd expect that many clubs are approached by interested parties and talks occur about value, what ifs and maybes. This seems a little more down the line than just an interest though.

Interesting. There's been a few occurance of talks like that.

I do feel fsg took the protests personally so I wouldn't be shocked.

    I dunno though.

There's been rumours of a takeover at Anfield for a few months now and there's seldom no smoke without fire when it comes to these sort of leaks.

Doesn't mean it'll happen imminently, but it's probably a fair indication of the mindset of FSG.

No problem is fsg want to sell s long as they sell to the right people. A **** owner can have more disruptive influence than any **** player/manager so it's imperative we get someone that has the clubs interest at hearts like fsg have had.

Theyve restabalised the club, extended the stadium capacity and brought in a top manager while making funds available. Only negatives are the ticket prices which they backed down on (not all owners would have) and maybe appointing the wrong people at the top but other than that, they've been pretty solid.

If if they want to sell for X amount make a bit of money and leave us in the right hands then fair play.

I think they've been good owners tbh, and as you say, if the opportunity arises that gives them their ROI via an exit strategy then fair play to them.
