well tomorrow anyways. I would have done this article tomorrow but i'm off down to Leeds so I wouldn't be able to.

Sir Bobby Robson

On the 31st july 2009 he sadly passed away. He was not only the best Newcastle United manger I have witnessed but he was also one of the nicest guys in football. I started getting into football when Sir Bobby was manger of Newcastle and I have never came across a manger I have liked as much as him and I doubt I ever will. He was a Legend by every sense of the word, he was an incredible person.

I thought I would create this article so we can all leave our thoughts and remember him. This video is a great tribute

Some of his funny/bizarre quotes:
"He never fails to hit the target. But that was a miss."
"Eighteen months ago Sweden were arguably one of the best three teams in Europe, and that would include Germany, Holland, Russia and anybody else if you like."
"We can't replace Gary Speed. Where do you get an experienced player like him with a left foot and a head?"
"Gary Speed has never played better, never looked fitter, never been older."
“Alan Shearer has done very well for us, considering his age. We have introduced some movement into his game because he has got two good legs now. Last season he played with one leg.”
"People want success. It's like coffee, they want instant."
“Well, we got nine and you can't score more than that.”
“Some of the goals were good, some of the goals were sceptical.”
"He's the only man I know who could start an argument with himself" (On Craig Bellamy)
"One day, someone will end a football game scoring more than Brazil. This might be the time that they lose."
"Denis Law once kicked me at Wembley in front of the Queen in an international. I mean, no man is entitled to do that, really."
"Home advantage gives you an advantage."
"Look at those olive trees! They're 200 years old - from before the time of Christ."
"In the first half he took a corner, a poor corner, which hit the first defender, and it took him 17 minutes to get back to the halfway line." (on former Newcastle winger Laurent Robert)
"With Maradona, even Arsenal would have won the World Cup." (in 1986)
“They're two points behind us, so we're neck and neck.”
“We didn't underestimate them. They were a lot better than we thought.”
“Hitler didn't tell us when he was going to send over those doodlebugs, did he?” (On why he refused to name his England team before a World Cup qualifer against Sweden in 1989).
"When Gazza was dribbling, he used to go through a minefield with his arm, a bit like you go through a supermarket."
"Manchester United dropped points, Liverpool dropped points, Chelsea dropped points, Everton dropped points, so in a way we haven't lost anything at all really, although we dropped all three."
"I'm not going to look beyond the semi-final - but I would love to lead Newcastle out at the final."

If you wish to donate to his charity you can here http://www.sirbobbyrobsonfoundation.org.uk/ & http://www.justgiving.com/thesirbobbyrobsonfoundation

Hopefully tomorrow at Leeds we will be thinking of Sir Bobby, lets get 'There's only one Bobby Robson' blasting around elland road!

R.I.P Sir Bobby, you are still alive in all of our hearts. <rose>

Had the pleasure to meet him once, was outside of SJP, he was getting in his car and i wanted his autograph but was too shy to go over and ask, so my mam decided to take it upon herself to scream " BOBBBBBY!" she ran over and he lowered the car window, he was with his wife lady elsie and they both spoke to us for about 10 minutes.

R.I.P Sir Bobby such a legend and always missed. <rose>

Just saw this earlier..............................What a bell-end. At least the Charity benefited.

...................................................................................................................................

A Twitter user called Colin Warris, with a username of cwarr07, boasted on the social networking site that his “inside sources” at Newcastle United had told him Lille striker Gervinho was on his way to the club.

He was so confident, he waged a bet and said if he was wrong, he’d cough up £100 for Sir Bobby’s cancer charity.

But when the forward signed for Arsenal earlier this month, the donation never materialised.

And, angry that Colin hadn’t kept to his promise, three Toon fans stepped in to raise the money instead.

Taylor Payne and Stephen Best, who go by the Twitter username TaylorandBesty, and a third fan -NUFCThreatLevel - posted a message on the site in a bid to raise the cash.

And in less than 12 hours, under a campaign labelled #iamcolin, supporters from all over the world had raised more than £1,000.

A great gentleman and a true legend (that word is bandied around too often these days) and probably the only genuine non-family member whose death made me break into tears (not old enough to have lost a close friend yet, but that point is moot).
I was browsing on the newcastle-online board trying to find a photo of him under the umbrella (slightly different to the one ****e Seats have on their twitter atm) and found this post by someone:
