Not true The government has curbed immigration but its the wrong immigration The main influx has been europeans who only need a driving license to get into the country and have entitlements to benefit etc The rest of immigrants are not the drain many will have you believe For example a paki on a work permit or bringing in a spouse has no entitlements for at leas 5 years, after which they can apply for citizenship and if granted they can then get housing etc. If not they can onlyy access what they can pay for. THIS is the immigration that has been curbed and nonsense like citizenship tests are being applied, to people who are not going to be citizens for at least 5 years anyway Secondly the government has curbed student visas from India and China etc. These students basically paid for our education or at least a large percentage of it. These numbers have been cut and have contribute dto student fees for locals and the increases London alone was said to benefit to the tune of 2 and a half billion quid from students brexit wont necessarily reduce eu migration
All you've done is highlight a point I made earlier regarding the need for beneficial immigration. I totally agree with the need for students to come to this country, and I certainly agree with the rules for curbing benefits until citizenship has been granted, which is surely the right thing to do in the first instance. Furthermore, why limit the amount of skilled non-EU immigrants at the same time as allowing waves of non-skilled EU immigrants to arrive here and claim benefits? The system is deeply flawed and does nothing but discriminate against those who could instantly contribute to the country. Brexit would go a long way towards stemming the influx from Europe (unless demand urges it) and reopening the channels for skilled workers from outside the EU.
my point was that the govt is curbing immigration. the wrong, as its beneficial, immigration. they cant do feck all about the non beneficial. but figures need to be fudged brexit wont necessarily stop the wrong sort
