Agreed. Basically 5 good laps then should fall off but it seems they just did 40 laps as good as the softs. The race was decided by a lunatic stop by redbull. Really they should be kicking themselves
Some great drivers in there from 1st to 5th. Except Ricc, no one up there should have any complaints today. His is perfectly understandable.
Nico says his tyres were dead and that is why Hulk took him on last corner. I thought Lewis and Nico changed to Ultras on same lap (about 32?). I wonder if Nico had to use used ultras where lewis had new due to his fuel issue in quali!!!
That and he was following Alonso pretty close for a good portion of those tyres. That would have increased the wear considerably more than what Lewis was getting.
What exactly was Britney's problem early on? They never really said here in Americanshireland. Either that or I missed it.
Sick of these ****ing mediocre amateur drivers, dodgy tyres and **** strategies. Redbull have tinpot engineers. Hamilton basically handed the win, no need for his dirty driving and weaving though (nobody noticed how he sped away from Ricciardo under the first VSC). No doubt his deluded fans won't ever utter a word of it. Back in Monza 2011 the same fans were in tears about it. Ricciardo bottled it, came close a few times but obviously his 'big balls' were nowhere to be seen today. Mercedes can't run two cars without a problem on one of them. Ferrari and Kimi in particular are a comedy. Vettel probably having second thoughts. Too many idiotic and childish drivers on the grid crashing millions of pounds of F1 car into the armco. Verstappen out of his depth this weekend. Force India, I tip my hat to you.
Had a very vague explanation from Toto. He just said that 'the brakes were not in their operating window and that was causing problems'. So maybe the brakes were too cold to be consistent.
Yet you're the keyboard warrior and they're driving f1 cars earning millions doing it. Ricciarso didn't bottle it, the team ruined his race. He had one attempt at passing, Hamilton closed the door, wasn't dirty driving at all. Do you remember when Mansell lost the race to Senna due to a faulty tyre sensor? Mansell on new tyres was 3-5 seconds a lap faster than Senna but Senna lap after lap put his car where Mansell couldn't get past. That's no different to Hamilton and Ricciardo today. What shouldn't have happened is both the super soft and ultra soft lasting as long as they did, more than 40 laps
If Ricciardo hadn't have backed out there would have been a redbull wing flying in the air. Remember Hungary a year or two ago? The same driver cutting the RB driver off. There was more than one attempt if we were watching the same race and Lewis was making two moves to defend, which ironically is a rule he quite clearly shouldn't have been abusing. As for the tyres, thats a calamity in itself. Im not a warrior of any sort and I don't claim to be, just pissed off plain and simple. Any other driver and it would have been a drive through, el bando can vouch for me here.
Ricciardo should never have been in the position to have to overtake Hamilton to win in the first place, it's no different to when Hamilton should have won last year but didn't
Comes down to RB. When Ricci boxed and I saw no tyres ready I couldn't believe my eyes. I mean how does that even happen...
Upside is that Lewis is back in the title fight nevermind the way in which he is. Should make the season a little more interesting after all.
No wonder Horner wouldn't speak to Sky or anyone else after the race. What surprised me is how Perez didn't get closer to Ricciardo considering Perez was on the harder tyre
