cheers, I would like to have seen Green get longer, but have to agree about Elliott, very prone from Range!
Of course and finishing in 13th place on relegation form last season wasn't a disgrace in itself, still all praise to Powell. Let's face it, even if we don't go up this season, having had more money to spend on players than the previous manager, underestimate other L 1 teams and get tonked it's all praise to Powell. An appointment based on nostalgia not any proven managerial ability and his team is only fit for league 1.
Yes Sullivan should've 1st choice goalie today and many unpartisan fans think that, another mistake by the gaffer, still we must all praise Powell.
just wanna say, good luck for the season charlton boys, if we dont go up this year, hope to see ya come up and make this a proper couple of games next year
lol first time ive ever heard charlton fans swear, although it was no surprise that the 'Adams family' chant arrived early on, that and 'Come on you reds, CAFC' are all they've got, they never have enough mutterers to sing the valley 50 away. Saw charlton in the peoples cup against Den Bosch as my charlton supporting friend needed somebody to sit through it with him, and now them against us, and they're much improved. Top 6 this season. Not much hoofball and they play it around decently for a L1 team, although when we started passing it around we left them for dead. Disappointing thing with Charlton yesterday was that they spent half their time on the deck. Last season all they had was the long ball, this season its the dive! Surprised Alonso and Izquerdo (rubens somebdoy) didn't play, that Spanish chap Rubens looks to have good skill, although too lightweight to play against us maybe. Wiggins not good enough for you guys either. Still, always nice playing charlton, we're guaranteed 4 goals!
Red Flag, what's the point in knocking the manager at this stage of the season... look how far it's got us changing managers again and again and again over the past 6 years. Nobody's saying Powell doesn't have a lot to prove, he had a poor season last year and we finished in a terrible position. But a sufficient number of us saw, in the style of football we played towards the end of the season, a good bit of attacking flair with players that weren't good enough to play it. If Powell has made a team that he thinks can pull that style of football off, then he deserves a bit of time for us to get behind him as we try and rebuild a Charlton squad. If he isn't successful, he'll be gone by Christmas as his position will be untenable. What benefit is your droning on (wrongly) about people idolising Powell as a manager possibly going to do? Also, re. you specific point, who was it that brought Sullivan into Charlton to give Elliott some competition?
so whats the Millwall song repetoire then...erm Miiiiiiiiiillllwallllll and no one likes us, and, thats it aint it. Also its a totaly new team who will only get better 7 new signings in starting 11.
Racon spent more time on the deck than anyone... Longest time any player was on the floor was when Robinson could/should(?) have been sent off for a dirty lunge on BWP. No doubt it was because brad had looked a real goalscoring threat.
Elliot's decision making is **** judging from our two free kick goals as he seemed to dive the wrong way on Henry's goal and then was rooted to the spot watching Bouzza's goal but there's nothing wrong with his reflexes as his point blank save from Hendo's header at 1-2 was superb.
