Aye Stanley cup final for the NHL its the first time San jose Sharks have been in the final Pittsburgh have been in 4 won 3. To win it they play 82 regular season games then 4 rounds of best of seven games so potentially they could play 110 games all told. Then you hear about footballers complaining about the number of games they play <doh>

For some strange reason i was watching Iceland v Austria a few night ago. Iceland won 3-1. I didnt have a bloody clue wtf was going on. Keeping youe eyes on the puck is nigh on impossible. That **** for slow motion and replays

It is difficult at times it is the fastest team sport in the world - once you start watching it regularly it gets easier as you can anticipate what they are going to do with the puck/hits etc. Its when someone comes out with a brilliant piece of skill that wasn't expected that you are left thinking wtf happened there but as you say there is always the replays. They also have big screens above the ice so if you are at the rink you can see the replays as well

Somebody told me that when a fight kicks off in Ice Hockey, the losing fighter gets the harsher punishment.

    Is this true?

Its a bit like the old joke "I went to a fight and an ice hockey game broke out" I think you will find that the penalty would have been for interference (not in an AJ sort of way)

Na its all to do with circumstances both fighters will get a 5 minute pen for fighting but there may be one who was going to take an initial pen will ussually get an extra 2 mins. Eg. Player 1 slashes player 2 with the stick they then both drop the gloves. Both players get 5 mins but player 1 gets an extra 2 mins for the slash(if the officials saw it of course)
Sometimes players will know they are going to go before the puck is dropped so you see them chatting away waiting for the puck to drop then as soon as that happens they both drop the gloves together - 5 mins each.

    I don't get this bit...

How do they know they are going to be fighting and how can they be so friendly about it beforehand?

Its possibly something that happened in the last game or one of them may be trying to change the momentum of the team or even something that happened on a previos shift. If you get a smaller bloke offering a big bruiser out it gee's his team up and they tend to play harder/faster because they appreciate what the smaller guy has done "for the team". The "chatting" remark was a bit sarcastic btw

Would a team ever consider signing a player who isn't the most talented, but can get any team fired up because he's a mad ****er who's scared of nobody.

    Does that happen?
