I agree it is very clever, but surely it is illegal.

its is only illegal if it does close. we have only seen photos of it open. anyone got any of it being closed? i.e. when the car is stationary? could just be another stationary aero design.

Yeah, we cannot make judgements. Get some video footage and then we can debate about whether it is illegal or not.

If the FIA were not happy with it we would already heard about it this weekend.

Just looked at weather report, it says temperature tommorow will be 16-18 degrees. Very good news for Mclaren. :)

Interesting. Should make McLaren fans optimistic.

p.s - does anyone know the average temperature for Valencia where McLaren desperately struggled?

So the last time 2nd place survived from 3rd into the first corner was 2005.

Also read 1st, 3rd and 5th in a lower series were the top 3 cars into the first corner.

Very interesting, maybe Lewis should be more concerned with marking jenson at the start.

That's a good point actually, thanks for the info.

Massa is a great starter so if Lewis get's distracted by Jenson, Massa might take him as well.

Is there a way to watch the GP2 race in the morning?
It'll be interesting to see the effect of the dirty side of the track.

If McLaren get the pit strategy right and get Hamilton and/or Button in the lead early I think it'll be all over.

Hamilton may be on the dirtier side of the grid, but he's obviously going to angle his car towards Vettel's rear end and attempt to get a decent tow in the run up to T1.Assuming Vettel and Hamilton both get good starts, I suspect Hamilton will be more aggressive going into the first turn seeing as he has less to lose.

Button will be more circumspect (am guessing) yet ready to capitalise on any errors from Vettel/Hamilton.

Again, give they all get away cleanly........ it's going to be fascinting to see who blinks first between Vettel n Hamilton as they dive into turn one ?

What do you mean he has nothing to lose? If he goes out with Vettel then he's got even less races to gain points. Vettel has nothing to lose as he has it pretty much won.

I think Massa may well be the key t this race. He can't win the wdc, he's fairly close to the action and he's generally quick off the mark. If he somehow manages to get into a commanding position at the beginning of the race, you can bet your house that Alonso is going to find some way to win.

I think both Ferraris could be a threat off the line, Alonso has been fairly rapid recently and he's on the clean side. I wouldn't be surprised to see Webber outside the points by the end of the first lap, got a feeling it's going to be one of those weekends for him.

If Vettel gets away well, I think he'll win comfortably. If he gets passed and things get mixed up I'd say it's between Vettel, Alonso and the McLarens. I'd probably back Lewis in that situation.
