Just because uefa are thinking it shouldn't be on the list doesnt mean it isnt there right now. The entire blame of this lies with sahko who decided to take something in the banned list so the real idiot is him. Its like yellow card offence fo celebrating. Its the softest most stupid rule that shouldnt be there but if a player is dumb enough to do it and gets sent off. They have no one to blame but themselves
It makes absolutely no difference if it should or shouldn't be on the banned list, the fact is it was on the list and he took it.
Then procedurally the club and the testers and the investigators all did their jobs properly. But.. sahko he still went and got something he was not supervised with and took it... No? If it was wrongly put on list then that's a separate matter in which any lawsuit would be thrown out as he should not have been taking it. The only out is if he were prescribed it and it was not clear it was on list
There obviously is a case or the hearing wouldn't have been delayed this long and his ban wouldn't have been temporarily lifted.
I half agree with you there bobby, eufa should be damn sure a substance they put on a list is banned then there is no doubt. This just makes them look like what we already know fecking idiots. Sakho should have got advice from club so only himself to blame but this does make eufa look dumb if its found out it shouldn't be on the list. I think they only care from a France point of view personally. Blame that gill I do
Nah, if the substance turns out to be clean he can't have done anything wrong in taking it, you can't be guilty of something that's not illegal or against the rules.
Of course it makes a ruddy dif if it shouldn't be on it. Means eufa as we already know anyway haven't a clue what they are doing.
A case for what? If they decide it shouldn't be on the list they will take it off for the future, Sakho will have got away with a minor punishment for breaking the rules as they stood at that time so everybody should be fine with that.
If it was on the list at the time of taking, you have broken the rules. How is that hard to understand? Nobody has mentioned illegal substance's
You said it makes no difference whether the substance is supposed to be on the list, absolutely it does, because the difference between taking something that might give you an advantage and/or something that might mask the use of performance enhancing drugs compared to using something completely harmless is night and day. If Sakho's lawyers are correct in their assertions then I expect Sakho will go after UEFA and he will not suffer any further punishments as UEFA will want to brush this incident under the carpet as quickly as possible.
The "list" is a list of banned substances(some illegal) How can he be banned for taking a substance that never enhanced his performance if it turns out that way that is.
You are correct. There's got to be some sort of justification and scientific reason for a substance to be banned. You can't just ban substances randomly because then you'd leave yourself exposed to companies handing over brown envelopes to ban rival companies' products to put them out of the game.
Because it was on the list Do you think Sakho and/or his medical advisors looked at the list and said "yes it's on here but in my opinion shouldn't be so **** em" ?
No, but if its ends the substance doesn't contain a banned substance he isn't 'guilty'of taking anything thats banned and the fault would then lie with the authorities and not the player. But it ain't got that far or might not so its just conjecture.
