The proper formation, and the one that I favor, is the one that brings us the largest margin of victory in hindsight.
Basically, it's like this. New forum rules so people can keep up. 1. If you have an opinion that points out something you think is wrong, you're an armchair manager who hasn't got a clue. 2. If you're proven right, then you're a negative **** for suggesting it in the first place. 3. If you've heard of any player outside of English football, you clearly get all your knowledge from football manager or FIFA and therefore your opinion isn't valid. 4. If a player doesn't score more than 12-14 goals in a season, he isn't a striker's arsehole and should be written off immediately, no matter how many full appearances he's made. 5. Meyler is better than Huddlestone in every possible way, shape and form. To say otherwise is just plain wrong, guys, ok? We're a working class city with working class values, a player that's **** but comes off with muddy shorts is always better than a quality player who's actually good at football who doesn't need to run until his lungs bleed in order to be effective. 6. If you went to Torquay in the 80's on a Tuesday night, mention it at every possible opportunity. Younger fans love being told they're **** and not as good at being fans because they weren't born at the right time. 7. We're Hull City, we'll win every game obviously. So don't suggest otherwise, otherwise you're a negative CSM who frankly doesn't deserve Premier League football. 8. Steve Bruce is our most successful manager, he got us to an FA Cup final (which we didn't win), to the fringes of a European tournament (which we didn't qualify for) and the Premier League (which we didn't stay in). So don't slag him off, yeah? I don't care if you have an opinion or a forethought or an idea, shut the **** up; if the manager picks it it's obviously right and is therefore infallible. 9. Now that North Ferriby are only 4 leagues below us, you can't be a true Hull City fan if you go to their games. I'm sorry, but they're too big a rival. You'll get people congratulating Grimsby Town next. 10. All Hull City players and staff want to stay at Hull City always all the time forever super turbo. Nobody ever wants to leave and to suggest so is drivel and tosh. Don't do it. Understand that we're the best and frankly the idea of moving to a pish club like Spurs or West Ham is never going to happen. Please respect the rules guys, we've done a cracking job of keeping them up until now, let's not let ourselves down eh?
I'm guessing there's someone else who is too young to have been to Torquay, mid week, and is all angsty and resentful at the realisation he's had it too good, and has the sinking feeling he's a **** fan.
I'm surprised at how many wouldn't play Huddleston. He's consistently been in most peoples top three motm choices.
You missed rule 11 which is repeat rule 1 endlessly above all else until everybody stops reading what you write, then after that use cartoons because they are bigger and even more annoying
It's not that he plays badly a lot of the time, more that he allows the other team to play well. When he plays we often lose the midfield fight. Even if he plays some beautiful cross-field balls he won't have the energy to get his foot on the ball when the opposition are on the break and that allows people like Forrestieri the opportunity to score. In what most of us expect to be a tight game, I think it's too much of a risk to give them opportunities, especially early on. I don't see how you could watch the first half against Derby in the second leg and not be seriously worried about starting him. Even Bruce saw the need to pull him after 5 minutes in the second half and he's not exactly know for radical decisions.
He was injured (Huddlestone), I reckon we struggle when Diame/Huddlestone both play unless Diame is out wide
For me although I accept SB will probably go with the team from Derby 1st leg, I would like to see just one of Thudd or Diame, with Meyler replacing either one, unfortunately Diame although having oodles of skill, presents like a lazy ****er, and Thudd isn`t mobile enough, two passengers in a game like this is asking for trouble. Having said that they`ll both probably play and both have match winning contributions ......................................... I hope !!!!
HE WAS INJURED DON'T KNOW WHY WE STARTED WITH HIM MAYBE BECAUSE HE HAD SUCH A GOOD GAME AT DERBY Sorrry caps lock was on
Bruce has been known to play people not fully fit if he considers them his first choice. I hate it but what you can do?
Bruce said he was injured, i was listening to the interview on the way home. Anyway thats by the by, enjoy the match today if you are there and have a safe trip there and back too
But after his performance at Derby (and indeed, for most of this half of the season), why would he have been dropped?
I think he means anybody who writes something he disagrees with as far as I can tell, unless you are his mate then thats OK. Keep posting your opinions and don't worry about the dinosaurs on here , enjoy the match too
It would be Diame who would be dropped if anything but Bruce clearly said Huddlestone was injured and they played him regardless so fault if anything lies with the manager
Oh there's a shock. It's a tough one to call, I'd probably go with your suggestion and play Meyler instead of Diame, but then that would leave Abel horribly isolated. Which happens a lot when Diame plays anyway.
I'd be amazed if Diame and a few others didn't turn in great performances today, perfect shop window for them- sad but true. I'd have dropped Diame on principle but Bruce is so predictable in trusting certain players. Think we can get away with voicing opinions today anyway Sterling!
