M1 traffic stationary at junctions 20 and 12

Thought I'd make this stand out for anyone heading down.

It's quoting an hour delay at present, which could get worse. Seems there's been an accident.

Any locals offer good alternative routes?

Posted on other thread I'll post here too.

M1 is at a standstill for miles at Lutterworth J20. Get off, turn right on the roundabout and get on the A5 for a few miles, then rejoin m1 at J18. Plain sailing miss the traffic.

Forewarned friends who were going that way.

 

IF you're not there yet I'd get off the M1 at East Midlands airport or J22 and cut over to the M42/M40

 

Stationary traffic at junction 14 now too.

 

That should be J18 DMD that was a typo. There's queueing at the roundabout to get on at J18 too.

 

The crashed vehicles have now been cleared from round junction 14, but it'll take a while for traffic to get back to normal...whatever normal is.

 

Very slow traffic on A1 approaching Peterborough. Looks like accident ahead.

Got fed up of the M1. We've turned off.

 

Straight down A15 then A1
3 hour 15 mins parked Barnet 2 mins from Tube off to pub Kings Crosd

I was not far from it when it happened. It's been quickly cleared. Two vehicle collision but both cars moved. Back to normal. A1 holding up well.

 

On Coach 4. Us and Coach 3 out in front. If this was a race, I'd say we're winning.

Basically a thread of people being stuck. A1 has traffic near roundabouts but is moving fine.

 

Did the M18/M1/M42/M40 route, was ok apart from a bit of traffic on the M1. Passed a broken down Wednesday bus on the hard shoulder of the M40, raised a bit of a laugh.
