Its not viable. Cost of getting to work and back, mortgages (if they can afford to buy) cost of living, even entertainment... Its ludicrous. And then stuck in traffic for 4 hours every day on top of your work theres little window its the divorce capital as well as the capital.

If I was driving from Hull to Wembley tomorrow I'd probably go M1, M42, M40-A40 to Hanger Lane. Avoids M25 and most of the N.Circular.

Out of all of my friends who have or do live in or around London, none of them drive to work.

When I bought my flat it was 25 minutes from from where I worked on the same tube line, a week after I bought it my bosses announced that we were moving to somewhere that wasn't even on the tube and it took me well over an hour each way (two tubes and a bus in each direction). <doh>

Does anyone know if the mass of road works and 50 limits are still littered all along the M1??

No where near as bad as it was, the ones at the Mansfield junction and the nightmare 20 mile stretch at Northampton have mostly gone too now, still a few dotted around but miles better than it was 4-5 months ago

Think about going M42/M40. I think there are no roadworks/50 limits on the M1 upto that turnoff, at least there weren't a month ago...

J16 to J19 (Northampton) has been reinstated, it's a 50 again now until spring 2017.

    Also Leicester J21-21A.

    And Luton J11-12.

    Bus ****er!

As above, my mates who live in London, don't drive into work, they use the public transport system.

The road into Boston just now was stationary, as I was heading home from the parents.

I'm obviously not there, but I guarantee that most roads right now around Bristol are ****ed too. Especially the bastard M5.

Sorry to break it to you, but other places have problems with traffic too.

PS That's not aimed at Lambo, he knows.

We're spending the weekend in Surrey. Me & the lad will get the train to Wembley from Wycombe, off the M40, & meander down to Surrey after the game using public transport. Piece of piss.

What time is everyone setting off tomorrow? I am heading for Watford as I have a hotel booked there and then catch the tube direct to Wembley Park tube station.

I see the Team went down on the train!! They didn't fancy the M1 , M25 with all the additional traffic from the Bank Holiday weekend.

Not even direct, looked like they changed at Doncaster, bizarre to see them all sat there on the platform on Look North.
Hopefully will have gone first class to stop any piggy wiggies getting to them

Avoiding the M1/ M25 route, fortunately my daughter lives in Barking so its a case of A1, A14, M11, on to Barking then on the rail network in from there. Good luck to everyone travelling, hope to see a few of you before the game while whetting the whistle !

To be fair the A63 into Hull is getting quite busy these days. I Come off at South Cave and get the tube right through to Cheese. Then jump onto one of those tuk tuks which takes me to Silver Street . 30 mins all in all. Not bad.

Thanks for the info everyone, we are setting off at 8:00 in the morning to my son's place in Streatham and plonk the car in his parking space before heading off to Wembley for the pre-match festivities then back to his place for the night and then head back home on Sunday, hopefully with a big smile on our faces <party>
