  1. Paris Saint-Germain have signed Argentine
    international playmaker Javier Pastore from
Palermo for 43 million euros ($62 million), Italian news agency ANSA reported on Saturday.

The agreement was struck at midnight, said the report, citing Palermo's president Maurizio Zamparini. Pastore, 22, is one of the most coveted players in world football and his transfer to Parc des Princes would announce PSG's arrival as serious players on the European scene.

He was also being tracked by
Chelsea. He played 35 matches for Palermo in Serie A last season, scoring 11 goals

i'm pretty amazed they've beaten you to the signing to be honest. where have they got the money from, have they been recently taken over or something? still hard to explain why he would choose psg over chelsea, however much i dislike you. maybe he wasn't fussed on england

Alexis Sanchez didn't fancy City at all - City is in UCL and won something.

Noway saying Chelsea and Barca are same.
But over the past five or six years - Chelsea are the closest team to put up some challenge against Barca and the second best team in Europe.

Where is PSG? It is a mistake on the part of Javier Pastore overlooking Chelsea.

  5. And if teams like Malaga and PSG continue to improve their squads, get into the CL(in the next 2-3 seasons),the quality of the opposition in the CL will go up a level..so from a neutral point of view, this will make the CL very exciting!

Hard to answer the poll for definite without knowing what went on behind the scenes. With AVB saying he's not planning to make major changes at Chelsea this season, maybe Pastore wasn't convinced he'd play as much for Chelsea as he would for PSG? It is strange he chose PSG given that they aren't even in the CL this season, but then again it could be like Tevez choosing to leave Utd for City - maybe he'd rather be the big fish in the small pond than the medium sized fish in the bigger pond? Or some other mangled analogy...

These Italian players are hyped up far too much. They really won't live up to their price tag in the premier league.

Serie A is a much inferior league to La Liga, Premier league and Bundesliga. There are some tough teams such as Ac Milan and Inter Milan, but that's about it.

Lets face it if he had come to Chelsea he would become a richer man than he was before. If he had come to Chelsea he would of had real competition for a 1st team place. PSG has the money and the ambition we have, so when a player picks a slightly higher wage over one that would see him set for the rest of his life anyway and to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond (although PSG will son become a larger pond watch Pastore jump ship in two years) all I can think is how lucky Chelsea were to dodge this particular bullet. Robinho all over again.

For me something really doesn't add up. It seems we were prepared to pay what Palermo wanted so I can't for the life of me see why he'd move to an inferior league when he could have been playing for one of the better sides in Europe on a tidy wage and (almost) guaranteed starting place as well.

Seems leonardo really pulled some strings here but even so, surely we would represent a better opportunity for the player??

I know PSG have some money now but none of their other signings would suggest they will be competing for the C.L anytime soon.
