So you reckon it was always man u's plan to appoint mourinho further down the line?, theres a few "if's" to discount for that to be true, like what if his Chelsea side hadn't collapsed?, what if utd had got 4th this season, what if next season was successful and LVG wanted an extension to his contract and was given it?, what if mourinho had been offered and taken the PSG job?
Everything has fallen in the correct order for him to sign as utd manager...it was written in the stars eh trebs.<laugh>

Wasting your time page. If we don't say what they want us to say, somehow we are bitter and in fear apperently.

Basically we have to say how wonderful utd and Everton are and how ****e we are and everyone's happy <laugh>

@Belgiuminho you keep mentioning mournhos style of football and how you hate it and you wouldnt want it and its boring. That is fair enough as he is a defence first pragmatic manager. Did you hate it under rafa because he plays his teams in exactly the same manner?

I cam understand wanting to be entertained and being proud of it, but surely winning is more enjoyable that losing whilst entertaining. I'm pretty sure you were happy as larry when you bored your way to the cl win in 2005 (same as us in 2012).

As for people saying jose walks into ready made clubs, porto wasn't ready made and that inter team wasnt ready made for the cl and had done nothing ever. As mito says neither were chelsea mark 2 that had looked miles away from anything this side of the decade. He eeked out that title victory for us last year.

Lastly his legacy on the clubs

Porto that get asset stripped all the time but he left the club in great shape (expensive players to be sold)

Chelsea first time he left us with again great players that formed the core of our team for the next decade

Inter he left that team in tatters

Reals team was still immense when he left (not hard with that team)

And this chelsea side needs a major rebuild. Cant blame him entirely though as im not sure how many of those signings were his over the technical director. Our defence has been criminally neglected (would also blame jose letting felipe luis go but hes not exactly young).

Overall i would say mourinho leaves a mixed bag.

The only doubts will be what sort of mourinho turns up for the media as he was great first time at chelsea and utterly miserable at chelsea mark 2 and whether the united fans will stomach joses utterly pragmatic approach to the big games as that is what he does.

We was called defensive when we destroyed utd and real. Take that defensive style any day.

Had to give them a head start or else would have been a boring 6-0 win obviously

    Nah- that's bollocks, imo.
The media, and too many fans have bought into the myth that Mourinho's attention seeking is a ploy to take attention from his players.
What a load of drivel - it's entirely gratuitous and self promoting. He needs to be the centre of attention - even in a negative sense if need be - as we've seen several times.
I don't go for this crap that he's somehow putting himself out there to shield his players. He'll throw everyone and anyone to the wolves if it suits him.

Criminal that it took United 3 years to finally appoint a world class coach to replace Fergie.

Mourinho is a master at defending but he also knows when to turn on the style and score goals.

Whether you like him or not, he's an all time great.

    good point.

rafa was a straight jacket... worse IMO than houllier.

All best managers are defence first... the issue with mourinho is what he did in many of your games.. get one then shut down game even if its in first 10.

I think your legacy stuff ignores totally work done by clubb staff before and after he left. Real signed al ltheir own players not him.. chelsea... dunno how much of a list he gave in 2004 to them or how many were already bought... but... hmmmm..

Cheslea 2004 IMO were ready to go
    Inter were ready to go
    Real were ready to go
Only cheslea IMO last time needed some development but abramovich had taken the idea that young was best and had bought quite a few. mourinho costa and fabregas... well IMO thats where the credit is

I think the media won't be an issue. the way they've bascially snow jobbed the last 12 months has been hilarious

Agreed, he's a nasty piece of work as well as being a very successful manager.

The players he supposedly "shielded" ultimately got him the sack at Chelsea.<laugh>

Matic.. hazard... fabregas and strangest of all costa

I could understand some of these guys but costa is a street thug and right up Mourinho's alley. I was astounded to see only willian really play for him.

All it takes is one **** stirrer in the dressing room to convince others to rebel, obviously happened at Chelsea last season and at OT under Moyes.

Is there some sort collective scouse drop in IQs on this board? <laugh> When did I say it was planned? And what part of it happening "by fluke" is it so hard for ppl to follow? Plus the fact I also stated it may have worked out for the best this way bcos following on from Fergie would have had its own pressures.
