Perfectly plausible. One of the Custii snuck into Jose's house through the bathroom window, protected by a silver spoon. When Jose found him he was livid but did agree to a one line exclusive statement, "Now I'll Show The Blues". The Custii now sucks his thumb and wanders by the banks of his own lagoon.
Very true. After all, remember how badly SAF's "knock Liverpool off their ****ing perch" comment rebounded on him....
Not really - it's a S*n headline, the one thing you can guarantee is that it is something he did not say. The article itself is all based on a 'close friend' of Mourinho's, which pretty much also guarantees it is bollocks.
We really need to hit the ground running next season, I think Jose has the best chance of winning the title in his first season. City & Chelsea both have very good new managers, but unlike Jose they are new to the PL and will (hopefully) have to adapt in their 1st season. I fully expect them to get better every season. Spurs will have another good season I think, but I would back us to beat them. Arsenal will be Arsenal, I expect them to be near the top but not challenging for the title after February, same as every year. Liverpool will improve under Klopp, but it's too early for them to be challenging for titles. Leicester will battle to do as well this year with CL football and the pressure of mounting a title challenge. It remains to be seen if they keep their best players. I think our main challengers (in order) will be City Spurs Chelsea Arsenal Liverpool Leicester
I don't think Spurs will challenge at all. They had their best season in decades, no injuries to their key players, limited to no challenge from the bigger clubs and still finished third.
Agreed. In fact it wasn't even that outstanding a season for them - they got about the same number of points they finished with in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, it was just the failures of the other usual challengers that boosted them to 3rd instead of their usual 4th-6th. Given how badly they collapsed at the end of the season, it's probably going to be a case of which players they lose, rather than if they lose any. It's going to be an interesting season next year - generally a club doesn't win the title unless they finish in the top three the previous year (Leicester being the obvious exception). But I can't seen Leicester, Arsenal or Spurs challenging next year, and of those three only Leicester got enough points to challenge in a normal season. So I think it's really going to be a question of which of the three big clubs can get their act together quickest and get 80+ points. Personally I think it will be a season too soon for Conte given how much work needs doing at Chelsea and the fact he will be fighting to keep players as much as to sign them. Which could mean the title ends up being a straight fight between Guardiola and Mourinho, provided they both have a decent summer in the market and a good pre season.
If Arsenal sign a proper striker then they could challenge. Their squad is packed with good players already.
Yeah, they will need to replace Henry with a proper back up to Van Persie and sort out the full backs and......oh, sorry, I had a 2006 flashback then! Problem is that's the same thing we've been saying about Arsenal for the past decade - all they need is the right player or two and they will challenge. But Wenger has had ten summer windows to sign the right player and continues to fail. In comes Xhaka, out go Ozil and Sanchez, the roundabout continues...
“To become Manchester United manager is a special honour in the game. It is a club known and admired throughout the world. There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match.” ...................good start 10/10
There are exceptions Swarbs but not often. Is he going to be concentrating more on Utd or getting revenge on Chelsea?
I think he should forget all about Chelsea Stan, if it turns into an obsession it could backfire. Anyway boys, what are your first season expectations from him ?
Absolutely no evidence of an obsession there - as pointed out above the S*n headline was all based on comments from a 'close friend' saying he was unhappy to be fired by Chelsea. Mourinho hasn't mentioned Chelsea once - he clearly doesn't care about them any more First season expectations for me are to establish a strong playing style and approach, move back into the top four, and compete for a trophy. Pretty much the same expectations I had for LVG tbh.
