Would that be the current squad that came back against Dortmund and Villarreal?

So there's already division in your hierarchy over him and he's not stepped foot inside yet? Sounds promising...

After trying to protect and failing...you know sports psychology mate..when the tide turns...see your snooker analogy as a perfect example...Davis vs Ronnie in the Masters a perfect example....

    Also

Would you consider Dortmund a far better team with a manager at least the equal to Klopp? And yet they couldn't stop it happening to them either?

But our squad famous for collapse were supposed to do better mentally?

Klopp can give a rousing speech at half time which I'm sure he did but when it goes on the pitch in the second half like that it's hard to pull it back as two better teams than us found out...

They are very selective, when they "won it 5 times" in Istanbul it was all down to Rafa's tactical genius if I say the players said "**** it we have nothing to lose" I am shot down.
Nobody ever explains why Rafa's tactical genius had them 3-0 down at half time though :emoticon-0100-smile

You said it was a mistake to appoint LVG. I simply responded by saying, or it could have actually worked out for the best, as far as Mourinho coming in. Coming in straight after Fergie was going to have its own pressures. Mourinho would have been compared to Fergie and the pressure on him would've been far greater. With the benefit of Moyes and Van Gaal's tenure, he has enough distance between himself and Fergie's legacy. I really don't understand why that's so hard to understand, which only confirms any balanced debate on here is going to be tempered by the fear/bias of the scousers on here <laugh>

Actually no, I thought the Dortmund manager ****ed it right up with his gung Ho tactics when the game was in his pocket at 3-1.

The high line, and over committing of men forward when 3-1 up was suicidal and it cost him.

Your lads did crumple mentally in that final, but only as a result of the opposition tactics giving them a lead in the game, after you though you had it in the bag at HT.

There you go with generalisations..."they"? He responded specifically to me so unless you can provide my quote that says Rafa was a tactical genius your post is irrelevant?

Personally I put that game in exactly the same bracket....lose momentum in a final and it's incredibly difficult to get it back...and thanks...That Milan team were a hell of a lot better than that LFC team never mind our current one!

And that Milan team went in to half time with the mentality that the game was over, the manager probably had the same view.
You are right though, I did generalise and lump you in with many others, I apologise for that.

Nah...not hard to understand what you are saying with your subsequent explanatory posts (Inc this one) but your original post which we replied to wasn't that clear. It suggested whether you intended it to or not that the previous two appointments somehow were a deliberate ploy to give a real manager space from Fergie. You might know what you really meant mate but we can only respond to what you actually wrote. You cleared yourself up later. So..two errors a bit of debate over current appointment and fingers crossed Charlton/Fergie are wrong a third time in a row! Got it :emoticon-0148-yes:

And that's a bit weak with the bias crap. I've agreed he's a successful manager...you can not do otherwise
I've agreed he can win you immediate success..he can. I've just pointed out he has inherent risks over creating chaos and division very quickly...which he has on many occasions. Which makes him a risk...you've taken that risk now so on you go!

I also suggested earlier I'd like to see all the managers going hell for leather as it makes it more exciting and increased bragging rights for the Victors over the next few years...but that must just be my scouse bias talking...

No worries...I think we did exactly the same...went in thinking job done..same second half and looked shocked and horrified that the other team didn't just lie down...disgrace.
