He has always been a disgrace

 

I said the same thing when he was linked to us before; if he joined my club it would ruin it for me. The "all about the result" approach isn't for me, may as well just watch Final Score each Saturday if that's the only thing that matters.

I didn't watch every game under Houllier for that very reason; bored me to tears!

 

He is one of the most successful football managers in history. His ability to win trophies is unquestionable, he's even won the big one at unfancied Porto. Wherever he goes he guarantees trophies.

The problem is that his success always comes at a cost. He hardly ever manages to nurture youth players, he either plays them too much or too little or just sells them on because they won't develop inside his 3 year window of managing the club. Inter are a good example of his usual transfer policy, he spends a lot of money on players who only have 1 or 2 good seasons left in them (Eto'o, Lucio, Milito) often at the expense of players who would've benfitted the club longer term (Ibrahimovic, Bonucci). He also makes the club turn everyone that it plays into enemies, to the point that by the time he has left after 3 years or so the club and players are so tired of all the fighting, negative press and abuse they receive their performance level drops by quite a bit.

Let us see what state Mourinho leaves the United squad in, how many of the promising young players that have burst onto the scene under Van Gaal are still there in 3 years & how the star players of Mourinho's reign perform after he leaves. History shows that they will not perform well but maybe he has learnt something from his second spell at Chelsea.

 

Can't stand the bloke, wouldn't want him as our manager.

He's a got the record but here, every managers record means dick with a new club. It's not like United need to rely on his prestige to attract players.

So the PL now has the following top class managers with great records:

Guardiola
Mourinho
Pochettino
Wenger
Klopp
Raneri
Conte

Let battle commence!

You've got Leicester and Spurs with nearly fully formed teams PL wise at least.

You've got Liverpool, Chelsea, United needing a bit of a rebuild.

With City and Arsenal needing important tweets.

All with great managers, all with plenty of cash..

I think he's a top manager. He's arrogant, he has an ego to match. That could be classed as being a cock or just part of being one of the best managers ever. But the rest of the stuff is just wishfull thinking or bias guesswork.

Lol as I said...I really hope in a weird way that all the managers do well at each club...imagine if they do and "our" club is the one to succeed during the next few years....that'll be worth bragging about...

Mourinho is a brilliant football manager. He's extremely thorough, tactically astute and most importantly knows how to win when it really matters.

Love him or loathe him, anyone who thinks he's not going to make a big difference at United, is either delusional or has got rocks in their head.

I'd have been beyond delighted to have seen him at Goodison.

 

You should read your own club's history in that case. Including some of your best managers. Truth is all the best managers come out with stuff that other fans will find "awful" while their fans will support it.
