arrogant and thick geezer here. One of you boys got it absolutely spot on. The original article was about Millen controlling and managing the situation. Unfortunately the loyalty isnt what it was 20/30 years ago when players often played for one club during their career. It is the player and agent who control these situations now. The Bristol board, you can feel proud of, they have rejected big money for a player in his last year of contract (whether it is the right amount or not). A manager can only do so much these days with regards to contracts and signings. Look at Marlon King and Chaventry. they gave him a chance, he promised to sign a new contract for them, then his agent phones and says Birmingham are interested, and waves goodbye. Your board have done right by you, your manager has been doing right by you (in this instance anyway), but it really is in Nicky Maynards court as to what he wants to do. Dont think either club has been disrespectful. You have a player we want, and you are trying to keep him. Whatever happens, have a good season - and hope your new ground materialises
Very balenced and well put view barwellfox. Emotions can get a little high at times and we all want the best for our respective clubs.

A lot of brinkmanship seems to be going on here...and someone will lose out. If you have had an offer of over 5million that sounds like good business for a good English player who is nevertheless still recovering from injury and is not yet proven at the highest level, though he obviously has potential. The uncertainty can't be helping morale and forward planning. Take the money and wish him well.
I'll also repeat Leicester do not have a bid on the table for Maynard, nor one that includes Waghorn at the moment #LCFC #BCFC Tweet from 'Fourth Official'. He seems to get everything bang on.
So you're contact at Tweet from 'Fourth Official' has the inside line on the player, two ceo of two clubs, two managers, the agent and he's the only one thats got all the facts correctly.. Sorry, thats complete and utter garbage...
cjs - This is a Championship forum, now do one back to your div 4 forum as you have no experience to comment on quality players in the CCC? 5 Million for a player is something you sags will only hear about regarding BCFC players, never will a sag player have that sort of value. Cannot wait to see you battered by AFC Wimbledon, with your mix bunch of journey men and freebies. Have fun in league 2.
I can say one thing I have found a new respect for LCFC fans, most clubs fans in this situation just tunt the selling club. "We can buy who we want" "He wants to come to a big club" "Your not good enough for him" Leicester fans have been spot on, engaging in decent debate, chatting through the rumors, what they have heard, accepting what the whispers in Bristol as the potential truth they could be. I can honestly say whchever way Maynard chooses to go I will be content. I can wish him all the best if he jumps to LCFC and we get a fair price, and I am sure LCFC fans would respect it if he decided to stay. Its been good, lets get it sorted.
Surely, the important part of this thread is,Nicky is still with us,not a "gashead"(even if it s cjs) has a 'multi personality disorder'.. Can I remind you, NICKY IS STILL OUR PLAYER let's hope thats the way it remains.....
