Romeu doesn't have the athleticism to get back after being caught out up-field. That having been said he always gives 100% and has deceptively good feet too, be happy to see him given the opportunity to start weekly.

 

Watched him a few times for the U21s last year and wasn't impressed. I reckon if he'd cracked on from the season before last, Ron would have pushed him, but from what I saw, he's lost quite a bit. I think the best for him would be a loan move to a Championship club, to learn how to take the hard knocks without blowing up and getting carded. Then he could come back and rule our DM position ...............

 

I agree here. It's banter, and really, the chances of Koeman going to Everton are so slim that I can't believe people are getting so wound up about it. The only reason things get bad is because people on here react so violently almost immediately and it escalates. Tobes' original post had a raised eyebrow at worst - certainly nothing worth getting wound up about.

If Tobes came up to a Saints fan in a pub and said the same thing, I can't believe anyone would react as strongly - nor ask that he be ejected from the pub!

 

Which was why I merely temporarily closed the thread the other night. There was fault on both sides of the fence though, in the end, it wasn't Tobes who was escalating the situation. Members of this forum need to chill a bit at times. I thought we were fairer than that to posters from other forums.

 

I don't think anyone was seriously worried...we all know he wouldn't leave us for Everton. I suspect most of the ire was directed at media in general dismissing us so lightly. And some rise quicker to bait than others...even when it isn't bait.

 

Even if you count Reed in there. It still only makes 3 DM, that isn't enough either.

 

Besides which, even if Victor is retained, there's a case to be made for bringing someone in of similar quality to properly replace Morgan.

 

ZAZA, PELLE SWAP?
Southampton and Juventus could be involved in a swap deal this summer if a report in Gazzetta dello Sport is to be believed.

It's plenty, this season is kind of a good evidence of that. We had Wanyama, Romeu and Reed, and Reed didn't even get a sniff.

We just need to replace Wanyama with a similar player. Preferably someone better on the ball.

 

In other news, the Club and Pelle are looking to extend his contract anyway. So hold with that Ms Angry from Newport letter for a while.
