Agree that Romeu looks like a great signing, haven't seen enough of reed to suggest he can step into wanyamas shoes. We need another CDM in the enforcer role, classie has been good but will be injury prone with his work rate.

I would say that Romeu is more of an enforcer than Clasie, when the squad were asked who was the hardest tackler at the club, the majority said Romeu.

Saints being linked with Franck Kessie by Gianluca Di Marzio - Sky Italia's chief reporter.

19 year old Ivorian centre-back, contracted to Atalanta.

Interesting DTLW! Transfermarkt has him on loan from Atalanta to Cesena this season, with Cesena holding an option to buy. It's also got the vast majority of this year's matches with him down as playing either DM or CM so he could be a versatile player to have at our disposal.

I liked the bit where Fraser was canny enough to say that Victor would consider himself the hardest player in the squad. And Victor didn't disappoint.

The toughest guy.? Has to be me. Yeah, I'd beat myself. I'd beat the others and I'd beat myself as well. <laugh>

Reed needs to get better if he's to grow into a regular top 6 player. Which he can only do by playing.

Bleacher report say that Wanyama has turned down the contract offer, in order to force a move to Spurs.

I don't get the Wanyama to Spurs thing, they have better midfielders. I'd think he'd only be a bit part player.

There's also rumours of Mason to Cherries, so with a Champions League campaign, it makes sense. Some clever prophet said once, "It's not about the eleven"

In all seriousness though, Spuds desperately need another midfielder and it'll give them options. Look how they crumbled as soon as Dembele and Alli were out. Mason isn't up to the job and Vic would come in as a rotation option. He won't play all the games, but he'll get a fair amount of game time.

On the flip side of that, like an old oil tanker, as we know, Vic takes a little while to get going and needs consistent game time, so how *right* he'd be for them in the long run, I don't know. Thing is, I don't really care. Anything above £20m, let him go.

Spurs have made an application to SGN for a gasometer to be constructed next to their stadium. Their argument was "Southampton have one so we must have one". Gasometer_in_East_London.jpg

Agreed. Naive of people to think there is no place for a Vic at a team like Spurs. It's about a squad these days.

Be happy to keep Victor, but (as far as we know) he's the only player who agitated to leave, so perhaps best to let him go with only one season left on his contract. I know that during last summer's transfer window, Ronald clearly differentiated between the attitude of Mane and Wanyama. He was definitely not cross with Mane.

No begging or pleading for him to stay.

We were doing OK before him and we will do very well after him.

No one is indispensable not even the Queen or the PM and Victor is a tiny insignificant little nobody in the scale of things.

If he doesn't want to play for us then he can **** off but we will screw the club he goes to for every penny we can get.

That's the way to do it.
