Really? I thought you'd have been a dab hand on a bike.

They love a scooter out there.

Give me a car. A git big car anyday.

Although you may remember i did manage to write of a so called indistrutable Nissan Navara pick up. As i wrapped it around a tree.

That was both an unlucky and lucky day.

I remember getting a lift back from Roker Park to Ryhope after a match off my mate when I was about 21. It must have taken us about 7 minutes in total despite the traffic.. It was an 1100cc monster, and he managed to get it up to about a hundred and ten miles an hour in a straight stretch of road of about a mile, and I was scared ****tless. He then actually took off the ground when he went from the Hollycarside end of Ryhope under the old railway bridge and up the bank towards the Colliery end. I couldn't even walk when I got off as my legs had turned to mush. I vowed that day that I would never get on the back of a bike again, but I did a few years later, but not with the same lad..

The lad who gave me this backer used to taunt the police by speeding past them with his number plate covered up..They could never catch him, but came round his house one day and said they knew it was him and they would catch him and prove it one day...They never did though. He did have a pretty bad crash about 5 years ago where his legs were smashed up badly and he decided then to give his motorbiking up for good.

I've never been on a bike in England I don't think, having to wear a helmet and leathers while riding round under a grey sky on a two wheeled death trap doesn't appeal to me.

However we've been going to the same Greek island on holiday for about twenty years now and I always rent a scooter. It's a world of difference to England zipping about the island in the sun just wearing shorts and nothing else.

I've come off it twice and both times were painful as **** but they were both sober during the day due to dry leaves on the road, the amount of times I've driven them at night fall down drunk and stoned out of my tree and not had any problems...I must have been living a charmed life. I'm a lot more conservative/boring these days.

Imagine going 110mph, on a bike and how scary it is, then imagine going 200mph round the streets of Manx.

There's some grim deaths happened on that course.

Morning all, always fancied a bike so took my test on an MZ125.
Passed in the morning and picked up my new bike in the afternoon....a Suzuki GSX1100 <laugh><laugh><laugh>
went home packed my gear and rode up to Hebburn on it from Farnborough.
Bought another one couple of years later then had a Honda VFR750.
Not got a bike now but loved them for a bit of fun.
Fastest i have been on one was 160 on the M3, wife loved it too which was good :emoticon-0111-blush

160 was on my own, wife just loved getting out on the bike for leisurely rides out.
