Why would a club want the rights to a managers name and still hold it 9 years after he first left them

I have never heard anything like this before, even if it was normal I would have thought giving that up would be part of the severance package the first time they sacked him.
Don't see the problem anyway, it didn't seem to affect him joining other clubs (unless it's only applicable in England.

 

Is that because Ancelotti is a better manager or because you prefer his style of play and the fact his behaviour is a lot more respectable?

 

I would say possibly all 3, though they are pretty hard to choose between on the ability side.

I'd say up until 2010 Mourinho was miles ahead of him because he was consistently winning league titles while also picking up a few CL titles on the way.

Since then a little of Jose's magic has worn off and Ancelotti seems to have adapted better to a slightly different era of football. I think Ancelotti has transitioned better into this new era of player power.

 

Anchelotti won less titles on leagues but he won 3 cl.

Across ac milan and real.... he won the double at Chelsea and won the league at Psg.

In the main it must be said... the period he was ac milan manager a certain club was bribing it's way to titles and match fixing so... I really don't know. There was also inter too.

Mourinho won titles everywhere... but the question still must be. Would a lot have guys won at Chelsea in 2004 and inter in 2008

I'd say his best title were real and latest chelsea one...

So.... I dunno style is deffo Anchelotti.

But both men had limited choice in players at times in their careers so both are coaches.
