Also across the squad as a whole Januzaj, McNair, Pereira, Fosu-Mensah and Cameron BJ. Bodes well for the future as long as Jose doesn't sell them all!
Yeah man, the below is a real lighthearted approach; Glad you agree though, I'd say De Bruyne is your only decent signing in years. The rest have been fairly average. At least we can see the very definite potential in the likes of Herrera and Shaw for instance. Blind and Darmian are also good players but, as I'm aware I have to take your question literally, they aren't top class admittedly.
.. personally I think they will be better off without him ... any team with him in the side are obliged to accommodate him first and foremost ... great player admittedly but you need more than that at the very top level ... only time will tell of course ... but I think their momentum is building and their star is in the ascendency
So just to confirm: Jose is over rated and will be **** for United Zlatan is just **** Mata is world class We should keep a running tally.
I've said it many times, I used to think he was the single most over rated player in world football (bar Robinho). I've changed my mind a bit now though, not least as he might sign for us as this obviously makes him world class, but over the last three or four seasons he's actual shown some form to go with his reputation. I think he'll do well for us (should it happen) for one season, maybe two. The comparisons with Cantona are daft considering Eric was 25 when he signed and Ibra is 34, but he might just do a Henrik Larsson for a season. The youngsters in our side can only learn from him, he'll get plenty goals and he's free of charge so the money can be spent elsewhere. Also allows Rooney to drop permanently back into midfield, which everyone better get used to as not only is he very good at it, Mourinho will also look to play him there.
Comparisons with cantona are more for his arrogance and swagger. It will be interesting to see how he gets on here if it happens. As you say could be great for a season or two. Or could be as uninspiring as signing bastian which has been a let down really. I just hope the youngsters that have forced their way into the first team continue to get the chance to play regularly. I genuinely believe we have the best crop of youngsters we have had for ten years.
Well no as more than one person has said him coming 'would have a similar effect as Cantona'. i.e proves the catalyst to success. Which he might, but it won't be for as long given he's 34. I don't think the pace and direction of play helped Schweinsteiger at all. Or Schneiderlin for that matter. I think both would have been far more comfortable moving the ball forward quicker. Plus, he's been injured, which has obviously hindered. I think in a style of play that gets the ball going quicker and he's still got a season or two in him. Playing in that style made him appear even more laboured. We'll see I suppose.
I hadn't read what anyone else has said in comparison to cantona. I should have said my comparisons with cantona would be those things. Partially agree with bastian. He will no doubt get injured in the euros and be utterly useless next year.
This is a terrible post! They won their league by over 30points and did a cup double. Also got knocked out in the last 8 of Champions League and you think they are going to be better without Zlatan? Better at what exactly?
I've never been Zlatan's biggest fan but I have found the criticism of him now that he's being linked with United quite funny. In general the view seems to be that his teams would have done better without him. He's won 13 league titles in 4 countries in 15 years. There's a Chav who is also now slating Mourinho. He claims never to have really rated him. Riiiiiight!
... progressing. .. from flat track bullies in a non competitive league to going from CL quarter finalists to winning it ... come back and tell me it's a 'terrible post' in 2019 by which time I suspect you will be eating humble pie ...but only time will tell...
... how many Champions league winners medals in that lot Stan? .. how many La Liga titles ...how many Prem titles ..?
Who made you a moderator on football forum? You're completely brainless with the way you draw conclusions.
... not that it's any of your business... but fans of other teams recommended me to the site owner who then asked me ... no surprise you are not one ... PS ... I predicted Leicester City to be the surprise team of the season and finish seventh ... OK I messed up on the position ...but my 'conclusion' wasn't too bad ...I suspect I know what you would have said ... it's a forum for debate and opinion ... if you don't like mine put me on ignore ... otherwise go swivel. ...
Seems a bizarre way to judge a player tbh. He has played one season in La Liga, and won the title that season. Seven seasons in Italy, six times top of the table, four seasons in France, four times top of the table (PSG hadn't won the league until he arrived). No seasons in the PL so how do you expect him to have a PL title? And Jimmy Case has more European Cup medals than Ronaldo, good luck making that argument Your argument seems to smack a lot of the people who criticise Messi for never having played outside Spain, or Pep for never having managed in England. You can only succeed where you are, and Ibrahimovic has succeeded at pretty much every club he has been. Doesn't necessarily mean he will succeed in England, but provides scant evidence to support your claim his club will be better off without him.
