It's a European group/knock out competition. It's just like the CL but on a Thursday, how difficult can it be?!?
Just sceptical. There is more to football than statistics. He's got good stats but United is a far different proposition to Chelsea Inter or even Madrid. I don't mean that United is a bigger club but its situation is less positive. Madrid for example was not out of the CL and trying to find a sufficiently competitive team. His objective was to get the better of Barcelona which meant having to strengthen what he had already. I fear that Jose needs a massive rebuilding job at United. Whilst trophies and titles are important, after 2 years of dreadful football, the defending of 1-0 leads at OT would be most unwelcome. Will JM be able to change it? we need to wait and see.
Apparently the signing has been held up by the fact that Chelsea still own the rights to the Jose Mourinho name. I vote we get Mourinho to change his name to Parky McBusface
Methinks the whole country will be watching your first match of the season and scrutinise through the microscope Jose's first match in charge.
All our players are local lads. It's in their contract when they sign for us. He'll turn us into the Brazil side of 1970, you heard it all here first
I have no idea why a club should want the rights to a managers name It seems they have held the rights since 2005, it hasn't presented a problem with him managing other clubs, or is it just in England where it is in effect?
Seems they have the rights to his name and his image for things like mugs and nodding dolls for car dashboards etc http://www.skysports.com/football/n...have-to-pay-chelsea-to-use-jose-mourinho-name Surely he should have got that back as part of his severance package when he got sacked the first time.
Don't see why not. He'd have to play off the right with Ibra behind the striker, which (if signed) would be Benzema. Not keen on either Benzema or Willian though to be honest. Definitely not at 60 million, he's not even worth a third of that.
